Basic spices & marinades
« on: December 10, 2012, 08:35:00 am »
We will be away for 2 weeks over christmas & new year. I cant ake them all.

Was wondering if anyone had a list of what they take.

We have bqs at both  places, an oven in our 2nd week.

What are you thinking of cooking H?

I normally take porcini salt (but sub for your favourite flavored salt) - this is great for chips, sprinkling on steak or chops, going in spaghetti Bol or risottos etc.

The fajita seasoning from here, pre make at home - this can do tacos or grilled chicken breasts on the BBQ

Why not work out roughly what you may eat and then take the ones you need?

Sorry   I only take basics like basil, paprika, chilli, peppercorns. I also take tikka paste and vegetable stock and chicken stock.  Others I buy if I need them.

Started a bit of a menu plan & have thought I need to make these

Spicy Lamb Rub
Cajun Chicken
Yello curry paste from devil
Thai green curry paste from taste of asia
Tandori paste jar & yoghurt
Chicken tika, indian book
French onion soup mix
Crispy chicken seasoning mix
Peanut Satay Sauce, Devil

Plus the basics :)

Sounds good. I guess you will be having bbqs too. Where are you off to?

Madurah 1 week, Busselton  the 2nd week :)

Yes lots of bbqs, if I make up spices & marinades here, it will be so easy. Then, as I will freeze what I can, doesnt matter if they come back :)

In mndurah we have no oven, just a shared  bbq, hotplate & my trusted TM :)
