I made this dish tonight and we all loved it, I halved the recipe and once the pork was added cooked for 30 min. DS arrived and deciced to stay for dinner, he used to be a chief, and was very impressed with the recipe. There was quite a bit of sauce, the rice soaked that up. Had to get DH to cut the palm sugar for me, I have never used it before, I have mainly cooked Thia and Indian. If a recipe had asked for Palm sugar I used brown sugar. Next time I am going to try chicken with this recipe. It would be nice if the recipes said how many they feed, half feed 3 adults. DH and I have just been to Borneo for 2 weeks so we are keen to eat more Malaysain food.

I have been making my own Hot X Buns for 10+ years, we eat them from Friday morning till Sunday, or longer if they last that long, 1 doz in the freezer and I will make more tomorrow, so much quicker now that I have my TM.
Had to google your question, this is what I found. In many historically Christian countries, buns are traditionally eaten hot or toasted on Good Friday, with the cross standing as a symbol of The Crucifixion. They are believed by some to pre-date Christianity, although the first recorded use of the term "hot cross bun" was not until 1733; it is believed that buns marked with a cross were eaten by Saxons in honour of the goddess Eostre (the cross is thought to have symbolised the four quarters of the moon);"Eostre" is probably the origin of the name "Easter". Others claim that the Greeks marked cakes with a cross, much earlier.

I have to agree with what everyone else has said, this site is the best, I am so glad that I found it, love reading what everyone has been up to, and finding help when things go wrong.

Thermo man has been busy at my house today, one batch of yoghurt, basil pesto, my basil plant has gone made, it was time to do something with all that basil, froze most and have a small container in the fridge, I found a nice recipe on the net, with roasted garlic, and 3 different kinds of nuts, I roasted the garlic in the oven wasnt sure about using TM. Has anyone roasted garlic in TM? Then it was time to try out my hommus recipe in TM (nothing like the one in the EDC) I use to sell this to friends and family a few years ago. Muslie slice for DH's lunch box, cant remember who to thank for that recipe i found it on here. Dinner tonight I am makinga pizza so thermo man will get another workout later today. I turned the yoghurt I made yesterday in yoghurt cheese balls. Its been a busy few hours.

orthotics should only been worn for a few hours to start with gradually building up to wearing them full time. Hope your knees get better soon. It not much fun having bad knees, been there. Ice packs help with the swelling and lots of rest, which is probably hard with little ones.

I wrap my fresh ginger in paper towel then place it in a ziplock back and it keeps in the fridge for 3 weeks or same method and freeze, slice it still frozen or grate as needed.
