Chit Chat / Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?

My very first post - here goes! Just bought a few recipe books so tried out the Chicken with Prunes from the Meat on the Menu book.Used chicken thighs. Decided to try and make it even more Moroccan .Modified the recipe by adding  8 dried apricots, a cinnamon quill, 1star anise, a pinch of turmeric, a shake of ground cardamom, and a shake of  ground cumin. ( just guessed amounts   and hoped for the best!) Turned out really yummy, served with cous cous . :)

I love cooking too  and this machine has only made me more enthusiastic! I've had mine 2 weeks almost and have started making all our bread, gone crazy at the organic supermarket buying seeds and grains then off to the Indian grocer for spices! WOW! I certainly don't miss chopping onions etc and have successfully made things which I wouldn't have bothered trying before( or had failed miserably at- Gnocchi for example)

So go for it and you will be keener to cook than ever before I think.

So far have made vege stock concentrate, lemon curd, French onion dip, pizza dough, pasta dough, gnocchi, custard, basic bread, five seed bread, juice, steamed vegetables, arrabiata sauce! What a week....my husband said " why?" and I said" because I can". Told him he has to learn to use it as he cooks too . He wondered if I might ever get more than a metre away from it so he could gave a go! :D

Thanks for the welcome , all.

I'm the proud new owner of this wonderful machine and am loving the ideas I am reading here. Thanks for all your tips.Cooking is my favorite hobby and I am so impressed with what I can now do, creating healthy food easily, quickly and without mess! ( I tend to be a messy cook who uses every implement, bowl and saucepan in the kitchen when cooking up a storm.) Well no longer, I am so organized now that I have my Thermomix.  Can't wait to explore more recipes and try to dream up my own.....

I got mine a week ago and have gone mad cooking! The week waiting for delivery was hard, but I spent it learning about what it does and hit the ground running. Enjoy.
