Felt like soup today but had nothing "soupish" in the house so invented peanut butter and cannellini bean soup - not too bad

Thanks Chookie. I am happy to go with 2 tsps, it looks like a good option.

Thanks for your follow up.
I made the recipe at the weekend with 1 1/2 tsps and it seemed OK. I just felt that the larger baking powder quantity would leave a taste in the cake. Anyway, it worked OK with 1 1/2 tsps but, just out of curiosity I might make it again with 2 - 3 tsps and see what happens. I think the recipe would be American, considering its source (Facebook) 51

For Xmas DH bought tickets to a Food and Wine Show long lunch at Babajis, an Indian restaurant in Warburton, so that is where we got to yesterday. There were a good 100+ people there and the tables and chairs were all set up alongside the river. A beautiful spot, an enjoyable meal and a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

It looks like a nice recipe, Cookie, lots of tasty and healthy ingredients. It seems to resolve the question I put on here earlier in the week about a recipe I had found, similar to this one, that asked for 1 tbs of baking soda - I had already resolved to make it 1 tsp and see how it goes.

What a cute wee budgie. We used to have them when I was young - they always had the same name so there was always confusion if we referred to one of the earlier ones.
I made it to the Garden Show in the end It has certainly bounced back since the last one I was at. I couldn't get anywhere near any of the stands selling plants, unfortunately, but still managed to spend a good few dollars! 56

I love traditional hot cross buns, but, from what I have read, it seems that the major supermarkets are coming up with all sorts of odd mixture options each year, I guess it is to out do or get an 'edge' on their competitors. There's nothing wrong with traditional ... just leave them alone.

I really fancy going to the garden show as well - it is just down the road from us, but I cannot justify the time off, which is a shame. I haven't been able to get there for a couple of years and, I have to admit, the standard wasn't as good as it had been pre-COVID. Hope it is wonderful this year, Chookie. Let us know what you thought of it.

I recently copied this recipe off Facebook and am wondering about the baking powder - does 1 tbs seem right to you?

Fingers crossed it will be fine, Cookie
After a hard day at work, just before closing time, I got an email with all the documentation for our trip over to Europe in a couple of months - DH's 2 DS's and 1 BIL are joining us and somehow (being the only one who isn't retired which means I have heaps of free time ![]() 60
