Help! Pls solve this mystery for me!
I rushed off to Woolies and bought Laucke's "crusty white bread mix"... Mixed 2 tsp dried yeast, honey and 300ml warm water and added to 500 gm flour in TMX... result, a bit doughy and dense. In fact, there were bits stuck on TMX and were not exactly easy to come off my hands when I was rolling them... the bread was ok but not fabulous. Is the problem the fact that I used "bread mix"? Also, Isi, whenever you mention flour do you always mean plain flour (eg cinnamon cookies)? 1638

I have never made bread before so pardon me if this is a really stupid question! If I want to use white flour for this recipe, should I use plain or SR flour and should I still use 500 gms?

Cakes / Re: Anzac biscuits with macadamia nuts - achookwoman« on: January 31, 2010, 02:46:44 am »
Made the biscuits today but forgot to chop the macadamia nuts upfront..lol! Left it out of the recipe this time.
The success of the recipe was revealed when I left the room for 15 mins and DD had consumed 4 of these whilst they were cooling! 5 stars in our household 1641

Yes that was my problem too since I didn't know how many mls in each can. Ended up using 400 ml condensed milk and about 200 ml of evaporated milk. But would love to know if I was near the ballpark?!

Did you mean the Taste of Vegetarian... it looks good as well. 1643

I made it yesterday and the review from daughter is it is absolutely yummy -very morish!
Next time, I might just tweak it by adding saffron threads (authentic touch) and reduce the amt of evaporated milk. Overall, great recipe! 1644

Hi, I printed out your recipe to make it and realised that I didn't know if you used 180 gm plain flour or 80 gm plain flour... I will wait until your reply before venturing forth in the kitchen to bake these beauties. Thks

Introduce Yourself / Yet another sceptic turned convert!« on: January 23, 2010, 04:55:05 am »
Hi
I am the latest Themomix convert. Was totally sceptical about its claims when I heard about it, then intrigued and now totally converted! I am madly going through all the recipes in the Forum to make up my own recipe book and try these delicious recipes. I am also starting to get seriously addicted to this forum! When I am not on the Thermomix (very little time admittedly!), or playing bridge online (yes, another addiction), I am checking out this forum. The friendliness is just wonderful and amazing. A special thank you to the wonderful Thermomixer...for all your help. 1650
