Hi Jessie, you did it! Welcome to the forum, I see our lovely Judy has already welcomed you :)

If I may answer your query Judy....Jessie is from Victoria and I  hope she doesn't mind me sharing the following.....

Yesterday morning both Jessie and I attended a TM special morning tea fundraiser for `very special kids foundation' in memory of
a little girl named Holly whose Mum is a TM consultant.

While we were out in the foyer area waiting to enter the main room I happened to be standing next to Jessie and her friend, of course we got talking about out TM's etc (as you do)...I happened to mentioned this forum and how great it was, so Jessie said she would like to check it out later once she got home.....well I guess you could say and `the rest is history' cos she joined last night, sent me a PM to let me know and has now posted on here :)

I told Jessie she would be welcomed, she would not be lacking for recipes and whenever she needed any help or have a query just to ask and someone would always offer assistance.

Great to have you join us here Jessie. Im sure you will have much reading ahead of you...word of warning....the shopping thread can be a dangerous place to spend too much time, you tend to find things you didn't even know you needed LOL

Edit update...oh, plus the lovely Amy has posted a welcome while Ive been typing away...hehe, didn't I say you would be welcomed Jessie?

Girl power mine dyson was $447 at the good guys, we purchased a few things at the same time and the only thing they wouldn't reduce further was the dyson. Harvey Norman said their best price was $525!
Thanks Wonder :)
We always shopped at HN...but started to find the GG prices were more competitive, so tend to go there now.

I did look at the handheld a few months ago, I think it was the earlier model though?
Must admit, I did consider whether having to hold the button down would bother me...ended up saying I would think about it.

I was also weighing up whether to update my barrel one to the animal pro due to its age now....but ended up just getting a new
floor attachment which is great for animal fur etc (and easy on the hip pocket) think my old girl still has a bit of life left in her hehe

Gave GG a call today to check on stock levels, so I may go and have another look on the weekend, hopefully they will have a charged demo to have another play with :)

This shopping thread is starting to be a bad place for me to visit....my eyes seek it out, then my fingers take over :D

Good to know Frozzie for when mine starts to fade away...I will also be looking at the animal pro for sure :)

I just bought the pink Dyson animal last week & I'm loving it so far. We got a great deal from the Good Guys. The carpet along the skirting boards has never looked so good :) It's good on my cream bathroom tiles too. My friend has one, so I was keeping watch for when it was on special, because I knew that hers was really good.

I've had my dyson barrel vacuum cleaner for just over 10 yrs now, it's still going strong :)
Before that I had a Miele called white pearl and it was the worst vacuum Ive had for reliability - must have got a lemon cos I love Miele products normally - my front loader washing machine is a Miele and still great (also 10 yrs old)
Im keen on getting the animal pro hand held too (for the in between days) I think my dog should buy it for her mummy on Mother's Day considering she leaves her fur lying around -LOL

I see its still on special at the Good Guys (shop there often) at the moment for $447, just wondering if that compares to the price you paid (as you mentioned you got a great deal) ?
If you prefer not to say though, that's okay too :)

@ Wonder, as you mentioned getting it on special from GG, Im sort of assuming it was this same advertised special price for yours?

Dyson sent me an email today spruiking it...RRP is $549.

I also have the Breville kettle with different settings...love it, so far so good but its only a couple of months old.
I also have their 4 slice toaster, very happy with that and so far best toaster we've owned.
Love the different settings and slow rise...haha toast doesn't jump out of toaster anymore

I did read reviews and a couple of the Breville models didn't get very glowing ones, sometimes it's luck of the draw I guess
like most things we buy

Last night I went to Tenina's cooking class at Chirnside Park and really enjoyed myself.  It was such a fun night where I picked lots of tips (thanks Chookie for writing them down) and sampled some amazingly tasty food.  My favourites were the stuffed peppers and Pecan Dacquoise.  The kitchen where the class was held was very well equipped and had a mirrors over the demonstration bench so we could see very clearly what was going on inside the bowl.  Recommended.
Oh dang it, I would have loved to have gone to this, only a couple of suburbs from where I live too:(
Excuse my ignorance, but how did you all know about Tenina's cooking classes?
I am subscribed to her e newsletter but didn't get any notification about her being in Melbourne, have just been on her website but
couldn't find where to click on cooking classes...Birdie, can you or someone provide a link or info please....Im kicking myself for missing this great opportunity now.

EDIT UPDATE.
I just noted the year, March last year not this year....oopsy, that explains it all - sorry :)

Hadn't used this for a while - but last night it was brilliant for a quick meal - would love to have a space to leave it out on the bench - I really dislike hauling things in and out of cupboards but I guess it's a small inconvenience for the end result . .(wow! what a whinge!! ;D ;D ;D)
I hear you gf....I also hate hauling stuff in and out of cupboards, but with my small kitchen and lack of bench space, it's non negotiable. GRR! Lol, you should have seen me trying to figure out where my TM could sit...there was no way that was going in a cupboard, but what a juggling act it was to behold :D
Would love a workable kitchen, on my wish list (or dream list) :)

Congrats on your new purchase...yes the dreaded wait does feel like forever, but you can use this time wisely by going through recipes on here and noting them down for future reference or better still, if you have an iPad taking screen shots to save for later.

This way you can also gather in some ingredients and be ready to cook up a storm once your TM arrives.
I've gone mad on green smoothies, DH & I have a glass 6 times a week and we both feel the benefit from them...Ive noticed
my energy level increased, just feel better within plus the added bonus of the regular daily little room visit...er um, enough said :)

The TM does a fantastic job of these amongst other things....love my `Thermalot' a lot...haha :D
