Jams and Chutneys / Re: Chocolate Macadamia Spread

I would like to give this a go. Do you have to store the spread in the fridge because with Nutella, i would just keep it in the pantry.

Jams and Chutneys / Re: Blueberry Jam
« on: August 26, 2011, 06:43:46 am »
Well I decided to make this jam using my frozen blueberries. It turned out quite runny when finished so I added extra time, set on varoma and added a lot more jamsetta. This time it has set but seems to be quite tart in flavour, which I don't actually mind. Not sure if it's from the lemon or the jamsetta.

I haven't waited for it to go cold but I think it's cheaper to buy it at the shops as it doesn't really make much. The one I usually get is very good so I might stick with it.

Interesting and the same title too. Did you read the description - Don't pay ridiculous prices make me a reasonable offer today. Ummm, isn't $150 a ridiculous price?!

How much does it cost to buy one of these by the way?

Chit Chat / Re: Left over Buttermilk

I have always combined both of the 'milks' strained from the butter and use it whenever buttermilk is asked for and it's fine. Having said that, i have only made the buttermilk bread or other breads.

I have also filed a report on this item due to misleading title. It will be interesting to see what happens however I still believe the buyer should read more carefully.

Chit Chat / Re: Fete Stall - Sorbets in the TMX
« on: August 25, 2011, 11:34:00 am »
We had a TMX slushie stall at a fete at the school I used to work at and it was one of THE most popular stalls and made a lot of money. Don't know much about the prep work beforehand but I do know one of the flavours was lemon because I had it. I think there was a choice of 2 or 3. I think they sold for $2.50 or maybe more.

The other thing I remember is the person making them had blisters because of how popular they were. Our fete was in November though when it is warm so I'm not sure about April and what the weather will be like then but good luck!

I can see it can be confusing from the picture and title however the description clearly states it's a book.

This person seems to be an employee of Thermomix as they have sold a lot of TMX books in the last month at least and seem to be making more money this way and without the effort of demos etc.

I think it's the responsibility of the buyer to read carefully and I can't believe how much some people pay.

Chit Chat / Re: So much to try but so tired!
« on: August 25, 2011, 10:05:55 am »
Well I didn't make anything in the TMX yesterday and took the opportunity to rest.

Today I feel a lot better and have more energy but haven't been home to use it until now.

Feeling a little anxious about the possibility of being induced so I'm hoping bubby decides to come at some point during the next two weeks.

As for making meals and freezing, got quite a few in there at the moment but will try to do a bit more if I feel like it in the next week.

Is this diet also good for just feeling well, even if you don't want to lose weight?

Don't worry - I usually listen to my body and rest when I have to. I had to have a nap soon after getting up this morning as I found it hard to go to sleep last night. And I'm about to have another nap now. Daytime naps are more satisfying than sleeping at night.

However, I should be right to make at least one thing in the TMX today :)

Chit Chat / So much to try but so tired!
« on: August 24, 2011, 05:29:24 am »
Having only had the TMX just under two weeks there are so many recipes I want to try but I'm so tired! With only a week before bub is due, I have experimented with a range of recipes, usually with success and am very happy with the purchase. However, I want to try more but my body is saying it needs rest. I still try to make 1-2 things per day and am loving the bread recipes as they fill me up!

I decided to try these out since everyone is saying the EDC recipe is no good. They turned out really well but I only managed to make 24 as I seemed to make a bigger size.

Can someone tell me how to attach photos to comments?

Also, can you double this recipe or do you have to make two batches?

Thanks Judy - I didn't come across that one but it seems good and uses the ingredients I usually have at home. I might be able to try it next week as I have already planned the menu this week.

Is there any way to tag recipes I want to try or save them on here somewhere?
