Farro
« on: July 04, 2021, 12:13:42 am »
Does anyone have a tried and tested recipe for Farro risotto or Farrotto? Farro is a very tasty grain and I recently tasted a Farro risotto which was mushroom flavoured and wanted to make it myself. Thanks

Hi Boot, how lovely to see your post come up this morning.  Sorry I can’t help you out with this one but there is a recipe on Recipe Community, unfortunately it has no reviews. https://www.recipecommunity.com.au/main-dishes-vegetarian-recipes/farro-risotto-with-porcini-mushroom/85z6my0i-6a0ba-780246-cfcd2-ps104mrm

I also found the ingredients for one on Cookidoo with Porcini and chicken but unless you’re a member they do not give the method.  Perhaps you could combine both recipes to achieve the end product https://cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r678590

Hopefully one of our members will be able to help you out with a tried and true recipe.

Thank you Judydawn for your quick and helpful reply.
I do have a Cookidoo subscription but was hoping for a recipe that someone has made.
I might give the Porcini recipe a try. I will post a review once I have tried it.

Lovely to hear from you. Like Judy I’m no help. Sorry.

I have never tried farro .... is it a 'wheat' type grain?  If that is the case, perhaps one of the wheat risotto recipes would work. I will look forward to your review / comments.
