I'm always weary of making the homemade sauces as I'm the only one that will eat them (partly also because I'm not sure how long they'll last). This however I tried and was so yummy I went through it quickly. I also made it for a friend who wants me to make it again.

I've got a big bag of chillies, so will be making this today. My last batch of "chilli sauce" is just about gone - it was actually chilli jam, but it is really runny.

This makes a very very nice dipping sauce if you substitute chopped dried apricots for the sultanas.
And it is divine poured over cream cheese as a dip.

Great idea RosieB.

I made this today using small, thin red chillis. It's hot and it's yum! The sultanas really add something to it, although I wouldn't know they were there if I hadn't put them in myself iykwim!
I only had 190g chilli and as some people mentioned the end product being quite runny I only added half a cup of water (instead of a whole cup). Worked well :) The colour is really quite dark and I'm pleased someone posted a photo earlier so that I knew what to expect :)

Next time we get a glut of chillis I'll certainly be making it again!

I made this sauce a few days ago.
I followed the recipe exactly and it is a stunning sauce.
I used small chillies so it is very hot but very tasty.
I am about to make it again with larger and milder chillies so it is not so hot.
I will also try the idea of dried apricots as a variation.
We use a lot of chilli sauce so don't think I will be buying it any more.
Thank you very much for a fantastic and easy recipe.

I just made this beautiful sauce . I wasn't too sure as to whether to leave the MC on or off, so left it on and it was the perfect consistency . Just a delicious sauce.

I made a batch of this today to use up a heap of chillis! I had to make a few adaptions so I hope it tastes okay :-)) ;D

Mine is very runny, does it thicken a bit in the fridge?

Hi Amy mine hasn't thickened but it is such a perfect taste. My DH also thinks that the taste gets better with  age about a week or so after I have made it.

I have made this again twice.
This time I used large red chillies from the Vietnamese Supermarket ($3 for 200grams).
It is perfect with a good heat and sweetness and so easy to make.
Thanks again for the recipe it is now a pantry staple in our house.

Made this sauce today and it turned out great.  I did take out some of the seeds as DH does not like things too hot, but next time will leave them in.  The sauce was a nice consistency and has a lovely taste.  I did leave the MC off.  Thanks for sharing a great recipe.

I can't stop eating this ;D
I used brown vinegar, and had to cook it for 50min at 100c, as it was not thick enough after 40 min. I took the MC off for the last 20 minutes, and it made 5 small bottles. I made it in my Thermochef, without any adjustments to the speeds.
I will be making this again.
One bottle is missing from the photo as I have given it away, and I have eaten some sauce from the bottle at the back....
