Well after buying a house, extensive renovations, 2 children and 9 years together, my partner finally proposed this morning on my birthday.  It was very sweet and he involved the kids as well.  They all had on t shirts that popped the question and where all holding red roses.

What a wonderful start to the day.

Just a relaxing day, after the events of last week.  Catching up on jobs around the house and enjoying the peace with both kids having an afternoon sleep.

Thanks ladies for the kind words.

I have a wonderful partner as well.  He stopped on the way home last night to buy tissues and comfort food, then went with me to the vet, dealt with the kids while I just sat on the couch and this morning has tidied up all the cat's things before I got out of bed.

When I had a cleaner, I use to tidy before he came.  That way he could get to all the jobs I hated.  It was unusual to have a male cleaner but he was fantastic at cleaning.

Love the kitchen Karen.  It is always worth the wait.  Love the table idea.  You'll be amazed how much stuff you can fit into draws.

I feel for you Michelle, I hope your day improves.

I'm have one of those weeks.  The baby is teething, so up with him all night.  The only way he would sleep was with me wheeling him up and down the driveway in the pram, me dressed in my dressing gown and gumboots.  Lucky I live in the country.

Made a very hard decision to put my cat to sleep this evening.  I've struggled with this decision all week, but I think the time has come.  He's had a charmed life for 18.5 years and this morning he was very distressed.  Have cried my eyes out all morning and have nearly demolished a family sized block of chocolate.

Silverbeet boiled and slapped onto the plate that just looked like a big cow pat.  It was always cold and gritty.

Love silverbeet now and use it many dishes, just not dolloped onto the plate and I always wash, wash and re wash.

Would love to be able to grow tropical fruit but unless we build a big green house it's not going to happen.  Let us know when they ripen and what you do with them - so lucky GF

Planted baby cos seedlings and the slugs have eaten all but about 4 plants over night.  Not happy  >:(

Nice work Jude, carrots are my nemesis.  One day I'll master them.  Last season wasn't too bad.  My silverbeet is still going strong from last year, have some new seedlings growing to replace the old

Potting on my tomato seedlings today.  Hoping to grow them to a decent size ready to plant out at the start of Nov.  This variety is called Wilde Sweetie, little red tomatoes about the size of a marble.  Hoping they will ripen quickly and the kids will think they are lollies.

dropped off clothes and other baby stuff at the op shop, also made some purchases for the kids a couple of different sizes which will go into the clothes box.

Hardware store to pick up some painting stuff

Aldi to do some shopping - picked up 2.9kg tins of crushed tomato for $2.99. Will just put the unused into the freezer.

Have started preparations to paint a bedroom which will become my massage room at home.

Moved my DD (2) out of the room so she is now sharing with her brother (10 mths).  So far not much sleep over the last 2 days, so I don't know if this was a wise move.  I hope they will settle down quickly.  Eventually everyone will have their own room, but that requires me to finish painting and moving people around.

But I want to participate in the shopping thread so I need to start working again.

Lovely purchases ladies.  I'm glad I'm broke at the moment and can't even consider buying anything so there is no temptation, but love looking in these thread for my wish list.

Maddy we have the same incubator and it has worked a treat for us.  We have a chook breeder up the road from us and they have about 20plus different breeds and they sell fertilised eggs.

I made by partner go through training before he was allowed to take any tupperware containers with work.  He had to prove to me that he could bring home cheap takeaway containers before he could take the real thing.

I'm out near Gembrook in Victoria.  I hadn't grown garlic until last year and that was a bit of an experiment.  Now I'll have heaps, fingers crossed, as long and the wombat doesn't take a liking to it.  He was out there last night having a dig around.

Good job Nikkit.  I've just been planting seeds in my little hot house.  Can't really plant out until the end of Oct because of frost.  But hopefully will have large established seedlings to plant.  Have planted out all the garlic that spouted in the shed so that's about 160 cloves.  Might have to have a stall out the front of the house selling Aussie grown garlic.

Also planted some snow peas today

Raspberries fruit on two year old canes.  In autumn, prune out the canes that have fruited and leave all the new canes which will fruit in the next season.  mulch well and ensure they get plenty of water during the fruits to get nice big berries.

Last season my daughter lived on raspberries (she was 18 months at the time) as well as the dogs who helped themselves.
