Cakes / Re: Golden Syrup cake
« on: March 28, 2014, 11:19:14 pm »
this is my 'go to' cake for work functions.  I generally make it as cupcakes.  I have given the recipe to a few people and now I have heard it has been posted on facebook as 'my' recipe.  Apologies to Busteman who originally posted the recipe and thanks once again for such a scrummy cake.

Soups / Re: Broccoli, Fennel & Leek Soup - Surprisingly Yummy
« on: May 24, 2013, 12:57:07 pm »
I used this recipe as a guide to make a Broccoli and Cauliflower soup.  Main ingredients were obviously Broccy and Cauli, I added a leek and 3 small potatoes.  I cooked the leek in some chili oil and garlic and then followed the rest of the directions.  It looks great and I hope OH will like it.  I don't really like soup, I want to but I just can't eat it.

Thanks, I thought it would be roughly the same, but I wasn't sure and thought some one else must have already tried it and found out. :) :)

Just a quick question, If a recipe calls for 75gm of wholemeal flour, how much wheat do I use to get that amount?  Is there a set ratio or is it trial and error?

Thanks

Main Dishes / Re: Honey & Soy Chicken

Three like Chilli, roast lamb, pies, roast potatoes , stir fry and fried rice.  And one is a vego who eats rice, pasta,  raw veggies and berry smoothies.  I am going crazy trying to find something that everyone likes at the same time.  Funnily enough they all like cakes and bickkies.  My thermo is getting a good run in the cakes section.

I made this tonight as per the recipe (except for breast instead of thighs) and I loved it.  The little girl visiting liked it :), but my children didn't :(.  That is typical, anything that is easy for me is something they don't like.

Oh well back to the drawing board!!

Soups / Re: Spinach, Lentil and Buckwheat Soup (with photo)
« on: August 24, 2012, 01:28:16 pm »
My Thermo arrived to day and this soup was one of the first things I made.  I didn't have any buckwheat (I thought I did but I was wrong) so I used Pearl Barley instead.  OH is taking it to work for lunch tomorrow.  I am not a huge soup fan in general, but this looks and smells great.  Thanks for the recipe.

Hi,

I am new to, I paid my deposit on Thursday and hope to have my Thermo next week.  I am also a Northern Melbourne suburbs girl and I grew up in Fairfield and lived in Woolton ave when I first got married.  Now I am in Macleod.  I have been saving for quite a while and I am so happy to finally be getting my Thermomix.
