Mab, I use it instead of water when I make jam. Full of pectin and adds flavour. Could also freeze it. If you would like to experiment a little, you could replace some of the butter in cakes and use some to make a suitable mix.

Thank you Judy and Chookie for your suggestions.  I have put the liquid in the freezer until I decide what to make with it.

Not much cooking today. Eating out most of the week.
I’ve been reading about the benefits of bone broth in The Age today. Now that Autumn has finally arrived I must get into making some.

No wonder you are called Cookie!
Yesterday I made the best Hot Cross Buns, ever. I kneaded and did the first rise in the bread machine. What I like about this is that the time is set to 90 minutes. I can go and do other things while this is happening. .

My brother has just bought himself a Baccaraat bread machine. It was quite expensive. I told him he should have bought a thermomix.
I made some muesli bar slices today. It’s nice, not sweet. I will put the recipe up.

Marina, off topic. I checked a similar recipe to the oatmeal one you posted and it had 4 teaspoons of baking powder. This is equivalent to to 1 tablespoon.

I made some Carrot & Ginger soup this morning.  It has AC vinegar in it and I just don't like the taste.  Looks like it will go out to the birds.

Yesterday I made an asparagus tart and beetroot and carrot salad . I had to substitute a lot to use up things in fridge. It worked out ok . We ate it for lunch and dinner!

I’m into making Hot X Buns. I’m making them almost every day. They are walking out the door. I have had2 requests for some with no fruit. I refuse to put chocolate in them. I’ve found that the recipe easily make 15 not12. I’m also doing the first knead and rise in the bread machine. In this unpredictable weather I know this takes 1 1/2 hours. Im also having several sessions to teach friends how to make them.
