I think I need one too!
We cook our pizzas on a stone in the BBQ. They come out great but I can see this would be far more convenient.

I just use pizza stones in my oven and had the thumbs up from a longterm  Italian visitor last year. Maybe pizza machines are useful but where do you store all these machines?

Ella, I have a wall of cupboards in the laundry for all these gadgets.  And a bench in the laundry for the bread machine, crock pot, Ice cream machine and ice maker.  Yes I know I am lucky.  Cooking is my Hobby.

I have the black pizza maker too, and love it to bits!  if anything burns onto stone, I remove it outside, and use a flat edge metal plaster scraper to get off any burnt bits.
we had pita pizzas last night

it takes my oven 20-30 minutes to heat up before I start cooking.
The pizza maker takes 3 minutes to heat up, 3 minutes to cook a pita pizza, and 7-8 minutes to cook a fresh dough pizza.

Maddy is there any difference between the black and red pizza maker? Apart from the extra tray thingy? They would still cook the same I would imagine

I hate making pizzas and the more I read about these pizza machines the more I agree with you SueJen - maybe I need one too.

Really love homemade pizza JD but usually burn the base, my oven is the problem. So with a proper machine would have no worries

Both Judy check the prices I rang Victorias Basement yesterday and they have the red one for $89 and black for $129 provided they told me the right thing. My mum is arriving this afternoon so we are going on the weekend will let you know

sueJen, the red one has a fixed pizza stone, and the black one has a removable stone, with a deep dish insert.
you can then cook/toast taller things in it, as well as omlettes, fritatas etc.

it comes with wooden paddles, but I purchased the metal ones from their site
http://www.newwavekitchenappliances.com.au/catalogue/products/accessories/metal-paddle

And also can purchase a replaceable stone if needed
http://www.newwavekitchenappliances.com.au/catalogue/products/accessories/removable-stone-fixed-stone-base-replacement

keep in mind you can't pile your pizzas sky high, as there is an exposed heating element under the lid.
I use it for toasting/grilling lots of things instead of my oven.
For quick pizzas I use thick pita breads....couldn't be easier  :)
