Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Indian curry Recipes
« on: October 21, 2013, 11:43:07 pm »
Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has successfully used the thermie for cooking authentic Indian curries that do NOT contain coconut milk, cream or the likes. I have the Fast and Easy Indian Cooking book and am trying both the butter chicken (tikka paste made) and chickpea curry however was disappointed to see that the bulk of the tomato based curries are cooked on the stovetop or oven. I am wanted to start converting some great Indian recipes but struggling to find recipes I can base them on. Or is it just that the thermie unfortunately does have some limitations. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be fantastic!  ;D

Wonderful recipe! So fresh authentic and delicious. I use a lime rind rather than kaffir lime rind and doubled the ginger to omit the galangal - will be a firm favourite in our house :)

Lovely recipe, they were very successful! Thanks for sharing, I was incredibly impressed with how well my thermie coped with caramelising onions too!  ;D

Made this dish for my 22 month old and he LOVED it!! I added the optional ham and will include peas next time just to add some visible vegetables. I couldn't believe how many vegetables went into this. I froze this for my son and if we were having it as a family meal I would definitely add seasoning as I think the dish was a little bland. Will also add slightly less flour next time as you could taste it in the dish. However it was still delicious and very well received by the son 😊 will be a regular for him!

Hey guys,

I couldn't find a review for this recipe "Chicken and Pumpkin Couscous" pg 115

I made this last night and it was such a hit with my 21 month old son. I included 2 tbsp of Italian parsley at the end and used EC vegetable stock 0.5 tbsp with 200ml of water instead of the recommended stock. My little man can be quite fussy with his vegetables but he happily gobbled down the pieces of pumpkin - this will be a regular in our household :)

Hi everyone,

Thought I would introduce myself on here. I have only had my thermi for a week and already thoroughly addicted! I am a huge lover of Asian cooking so have great hopes of converting some of my much loved recipes to the thermomix. I have a 22 month old son and am pregnant with my second boy due early next year so also always on the look out for family friendly meals.

Thanks for sharing such wonderful recipes, and I look forward to contributing in the future :)

Hi CP,

I am new to this forum and have only had my thermi a week. Thankyou for providing such a wonderful list of recipes! It's been a great place for me to start and also a very positive experience having so much success with proven recipes right from the beginning! So far I've made the coconut satay chicken, honey mustard chicken, Moroccan lamb and the fudge cookies and all have been a great success especially after reading through the tweaks too. Very much looking forward to trying more on the list and will be eagerly waiting your new "collection"

Hope to be adding some of my own in the future too!  ;D
