Tikka Paste
« on: December 28, 2010, 02:52:03 am »
Hello everyone.  I am pretty new to this.  I want to make the Tikka Paste from the Indian Cookbook but know I wont use a litre of it in the recommended fridge life of six weeks.  Do you think it can be frozen in small batches with all the oil that is in it? (Like i do with the Thai Red Curry paste.)
Many thanks

Yep I've asked this before (maybe in the recipe review??) and people have frozen it.

I pack mine in 100g lots - just break off what I want as I need it. It's a great little paste to have in the freezer and well worth making the full quantity to keep you going for ages.

That's simply great news that it can be frozen.  I've balked at making this so far given the quantity that it made and the fact that I would have struggled to use it in the time given.

Maybe this could be noted in future releases of the book.

Guess what I'm making tomorrow!!!!  :D

Cheers,

I tend to make the full quantity and give a jar away to Mum or friends as long as I get my jar back!!!
I do the same with the veg stock concentrate as i just love being able to show off what I've been making!!!
