Mab, love your swaps. My friend and I call this country currency.
KAtie I understand your concern.
I’m having to cover my small seedlings with wet towels. They have survived so far. I tried using a large umbrella but the wind kept shifting it.

3 days of 36. I’m looking after Teddy the Bulldog. He is named after a bulldog footy star. He is big and fat and doesn’t eat much.

KAtie, BBQAnd salads. Keep the heat outside.
Yesterday I made 2 lots of spring rolls. Some seafood,  the others based on minced pork. I also made a tray of Wontons. All frozen. Love Mab, the freezer is very full.

Ha Cookie, you give him too much choice. I love the look of your very square loaf. It’s probably the crust he likes.
I’ve made a mixture of scallops, prawns, mushrooms and green capsicum ( from the Garden) in a white sauce. It lacks a tasty punch. I will divide the mixture in half and try mixing curry into one half and lots of parsley , onion tops and dill into other half. Seafood pies out of the curry mixture and add more  veggies to the other mix and make spring rolls.
The fruit vinegar that I make has resulted in very different responses. People either love it or hate it.

I’m trying to live out of my freezer and garden. My small garden is producing well. Cherry toms, silverbeet, lettuce, herbs of every variety. Soon to be ready, radishes , spinach, Bok Choi, and green beans. All in raised beds and pots.

I’ve been reading many of Nigel Slaters recipes. Wish I had more time to cook and more people to feed. Those with too many toms ( I’m looking at you Mab ), might like the Tomato and mango chutney.
Yesterday I visited our neighbours at Invermay. We swapped preserves and I came home with apples to make jelly and fruit vinegar. They also gave me a large Chinese Lantern bush in a pot.

Interesting Cookie, have fun. I’ve made these many many years ago.
DS came yesterday. Always does lots of little jobs for me. Fixed printer, washed car, mowed lawns. He is just back from skiing in Japan so I made him Pork Katsu for lunch.

Couldn’t live without my AF. Haven’t had any probs with my Phillips. As my oven takes 20 minutes to heat up, I use the AF unless I’m doing a big batch of cooking. Also love Parmesan, only the genuine block from Italy.

Marina, I agree about the adds. I also find them annoying on this site.
I did try the above recipe , baked. Worked wel with a lot less fat.

Just made this and had to post it.
Crispy Quinoa and sweet potato fritters. Minimalist baker recipe. I cooked Quinoa in TMX, also Sweet potato in TMX.
Think, use 2 eggs and spray with oil and bake in hot oven.  I did fry these. I tried reheating in AF, good. https://minimalistbaker.com/crispy-quinoa-sweet-potato-fritters/

Marina, yes, some of the GF recipes were ok but the readymade stuff was pretty awful. One bread was ok, it had whole chickpeas in it. One chocolate mint biscuit was also ok. Most bread ( $8 to $10 ) awful. I ended up eating rice cracker and corn thins as a substitute for bread.
I’ve been using a Microplane to process garlic. Good move, better as you don’t get lumps .
Think I might try something from Cookidoo.
