I need to make some biscuits this afternoon. I'll have fun finding what recipe to make.

Chookie I’m always trying something then get disheartened because I have trouble eating it.

I’ve made the first step of those gourmet crackers that Sue H posted the link to, I had a can of pumpkin puree (picked it up at Costco when I saw it for the first time last week) so used that instead of the yoghurt substitute as I didn’t have any. Probably should have doubled the recipe as I had plenty of everything needed for the recipe but I can still do that down the track once DD gives me the heads up on them when I give them to her.

To use up the can of pumpkin I made a pumpkin pie and then a pumpkin dressing for my tossed salad for lunch. Neither impressed me but I am hard to please these days.

Cookie your advice worked, I enjoyed the mixture of both recipes so will adjust the quantities to suit the 200 mls of liquid.  I ended up drinking 300 mls for breakfast but then I didn’t want any lunch until 2 pm, even then I still wasn’t hungry so just had a tossed salad.  It is a very filling smoothie.

Made Mabs Ginger fluff sponge.  I am using my mums sponge tins.  I don’t think they are deep enough for the recipe. I don’t think I’m a good sponge maker but will persist.  Hope the neighbours like sponge.
The Kenwood has decided that it only likes to go flat out. It must be 50 years old. Might need a new mixer.

I have a Kenwood too chookie but don't like it as much as my old Sunbeam mixer which died after many years of use.

I have a Kenwood, it would be about 45 years old. I now have a Kitchen Aid that DD and DH bought me several years ago.

Judy I'm pleased that the combination worked for you. I made Orange biscuits yesterday.

Made Mayo with garlic and Rosemary flavoured olive oil.
Also pocket bread but the yeast must be stale as they didn’t puff up. Will eat them as flat bread.

We ate the flat pocket bread with smoked salmon and salad. It eas actually very nice. The recipe is a diabetic one with curry powder and chilli flakes in the dough.

That shortbread recipe is the one I use too Cookie.  I will check out the other recipes too.  Once these few warm days are over I will start on my shortbreads and put them in the freezzer
