Do you think this could be done? Basically you need stainless steel equipment (check), something that melts the oils and fats (check), you need to know when it reaches about 37 degrees (check), you need to add caustic solution and then mix it with a stick blender (check) and then pour into moulds (check)

But would it be absolutely terrifying to clean? And would you ever be able to use the TM for food again?

Would the caustic solution (mixed in a separate jug and then added to the bowl) deteriorate the seal and MC? And would the capacity just be too small? They recommend using a stock pot of about 7L but it wouldn't have a lid, and you need to prevent splashes.

If anyone has tried this I would love to know how it went and whether you would consider it again.

I know you named it. What is the name you chose and why?

Ours is Mildred. We had never named an appliance apart from one other, and that was our (George Foreman) grill, George. It didn't seem right to leave the poor TM nameless.

Having said that, poor George has been used exactly once since Mildred arrived on the scene.

So I got my machine yesterday!! :D :D :D And it got me thinking, what was the first thing you made? Pressing the buttons at a demo doesn't count ;)

Last night I made butter, this morning I will be making porridge. I'd love to hear what you all did. I hope it was memorable enough. :)

So, my demo is next week!  ;D What do I need to know? What benefits can I get, personally? I read you get a discount on cookbooks, is that only one book? Which is the best book? (by best I mean the best variety, I suppose and the most reliable)

Is there any benefit to me as the host if a friend gets a TM as well?

Hi, I'm Rowena and live in Canberra. No Thermomix, but a demo coming my way next Thursday. :D

I have been eagerly making my way through the site soaking up all the info.

I also know Karen (Brazen) from about a million years ago (OK, maybe 5)

I look forward to getting to know you, and to picking up more tips!
