Lemon Butter in TMX.
I bought some Laucke, Sprouted Wheat flour. Bread a bit heavy. Tastes ok. Next time will make it with 1/2 white flour.

Possibly Lamb shank soup from freezer.
Made scones. Ran out of cream and used light Sour Cream.  Not good. Ok toasted. Rather heavy. Should have added some baking powder.

Love handmade quilts. KAtie and Mab, go for it. I have bought handmade quilts in both Beijing and Norway.
Yesterday spent morning with Solicitor and afternoon with eye specialist. Said I won’t need glasses  after second eye done next Wednesday. Perhaps for reading. Just those cheap magnifying ones.
DS stayed overnight. Has discovered that the a local SD bakery called 16/18 sells the best Hot X buns. They are the closest I have tasted to the ones that I make. The texture and spice is just right. I’m tempted to not make any this year.

I’ve got everything from the pantry shelves stacked in a pile in the kitchen. Joiner is booked to come on Friday to put drawers in. Can’t wait.
Ballarat is hosting the National titles for the Canoe Polo, Easter Weekend. DD has asked me to help with catering. I’m making Protein Balls, Scones with jam and cream and as many slices as I can manage. A friend is coming to help. She will bring her TMX and with 3 bowls and 2 ovens we should turn out a lot.

I had to Google egg hoppers Chookie. That was lovely of your neighbours. They sound lovely.
I also had to Google it, with the help of my 6 year old friend from next door.
Yesterday GS called in while I was making SD crumpets. He ate 4.
I shredded the leftover butter chicken, made Zoodles and added all to some cooked pasta with the sauce. Made a lovely meal.

Recently had ride in Tesla and shown how to do Quordle. Like Wordle but more complicated. Found a suspicious transaction on my credit card. Rang bank at 9 pm last night. Told me to ring Woolworths which I did. They explained that the ‘ free delivery ‘ which I have been having for 3 years has a charge. ! Not a lot of money but pretty sneaky.

I’ve been making my DD falafels. First lot Zucchini and next lot used a container of beetroot dip that I didn’t Like.
There is a simple formula and they are baked in a very hot oven and not fried.
Basic formula,350 g vegetable, minced in TMX
150 g minced seeds in TMX ( or commercial Falafel mix ) do this first.
                       1 egg
                        Heaped teaspoon Cumin powder
Mix, speed 6 for a few seconds to bring together.
If mixture is too wet add chickpea flour ( Besan) or corn or potato flour.
Line large baking tray with baking paper, oil well.
Using 4 cm spring loaded icecream scoop , put blobs on tray. Press down lightly. Spray with oil.
Bake 12 minutes or until brown. Makes about 16
Can add additional spices, S and P , and use a mixture of veggies.

Had visitors for lunch yesterday. Made Butter Chicken, sauce from a bottle, ( no flavour ) so added extra spices. Easy and they loved it. Served with Black Pepper and Sage Risotto from my Blog and a packet of bought salad to which I added heaps of Avocado.
I’ve always made everything from scratch. This new me is easier but when I’m settled I will return to my old ways. I I also made fresh No Fuss rolls,  nothing like fresh bread. To my amazement they ate most of them and DD finished off all the leftovers when she called in.

Thanks for all the good wishes. It has turned very cold here. Drab sort of day. I’m making Lamb shank , barley and veggie soup. Then I’ve found a ‘ Stonesoup’ ( blog) for Zucchini falafel. I bought a Beetroot dip which wasn’t very nice, so might turn this also onto falafels.
The leftover Butter chicken that we had on Sunday has 2 meals left. That worked out at $2 a serve, with brown rice and veggies. The veggies were free and the rice was one of those 90 second microwave pouches.

Just catching up. Cookie well done with the diabetes test. KAtie, sorry to hear about the COVID. I’m adjusting to my new life but get incredibly tired. Not surprising. I’m having the first Cataract done on Thursday and a friend is coming to stay for a few days. I’m looking forward to the visit. She also has a TMX but doesn’t use it as much as she could, so we will be doing some cooking.

Leftovers with extra veggies. Next door neighbours gave me a box of homegrown veggies. I think there is an informal swap happening in this new neighbourhood. I have been making jam , and giving it to neighbours, and it would seem that I have therefore been included.

Cookie, I love the look of the Kringle. Well done.
Yesterday was my DS birthday. We had an informal family get together. I cooked Chicken in butter sauce which I bought in a packet from the Supermarket. It was boneless and very nice. I steamed veggies in the Varoma and served with brown rice. I also made a berry and apple crumble. They bought a box of small biscuits and cakes from Brunettis in Lygon St.
