Curry Chicken in Varoma (with photo)
« on: June 10, 2010, 03:42:16 pm »

It is absolutely delicious! Before I made this recipe I had thought that onion taste would have been too strong, instead it is just perfect and not troubling at all! It's because of Varoma cooking I guess

I loved the combination of these ingredients. I hope you like it too.

Curry Chicken in Varoma:

Ingredients:

500g chicken breast
Juice of 1 limon
1 tbsp EVO
2 big onions
50g raisins
75g fresh cream
2 tbsp curry (1+1)
1 tbsp cornstarch
Salt, black pepper
600g water

Preparation:
    * Cut chicken into chunks.
    * Prepare marinade: Mix 1 tbsp of curry with lemon juice in a bowl, add EVO and mix again. Put also chicken inside and coat with marinade.  Marinate for half an hour at least

    * Cut onions into thin slices.
    * Boil water for 10 minutes at 100C on Speed 1
    * Place half amount of the onions into Varoma Bowl. Pour chicken over the onions together with the marinade. Place the remaining half of the onions and raisins on the top. Close Varoma Lid and cook for 30 minutes at Varoma Temperature on Speed 1

    * When the chicken is cooked, prepare the curry sauce
    * Get 1 MC of water aside and throw out the rest
    * Put 1 MC of water back in the TM Bowl. Add cream, cornstarch, 1 tbsp of curry, salt and pepper. Cook for 4 minutes at 80C on Speed 4
    * Mix gently chicken, onions and raisins. Put into serving plate. Pour the curry sauce over and serve

Thanks farfallina, love the look and sound of this one. I think I need to start a special file for your recipes  :-* :-*

We can put the farfallina file behind the Isi file.  They are both near the Judy file in this house.

Does sound a bit strange, but sure the slow cooking of the onions will remove the raw taste.  thanks  :-* :-*

I guess I've said this before.. I like onion taste a lot, I enjoy while eating but it troubles my stomach afterwards  :-\
When I saw this one I thought that it would be strong for me but I decided to stick with the recipe
The result was great and not raw taste at all  ;)

Yes, I like onions too, but MrsT is not so happy..  :-))  :(  Every time she is going to the shops she asks if there is anything I need and usually it is onions !!!

The onion taste here is not strong but I don't know MrsT's limits so.. it is up to you to try it or not
I wouldn't wish to cause a family disaster  :D
