I’ve made a pavlova, macaroni salad and a garden salad - DF is cooking us battered silver whiting tonight. He uses Chookie recipe for the batter and it’s excellent.

I’m just reheating stuff for lunch, party pies, SAnd P calamari , meatballs, and round nacho chips with cheese, 1/2 small tomato, avo and sour cream. 10 guests and they are all bringing something.

Anzac biscuits and a loaf of bread in the bread maker.

Bread. I bought some small dinner rolls from the supermarket. Awful, wish I had chooks to give them to.

I’ve made a heap of veggie patties and cooked up a big batch of coloured capsicums, onions and garlic for DF to use in his egg white omelettes. Lots of small tubs in my freezer ready to stock up his freezer once he’s gone through what’s there. I’ve also made 4 naan breads to use as pizza bases, left out the salt and used a sodium free spice mix- that saved 2000mg of sodium in this recipe.

That sounds helpful Judy.
I listened to a doctor talking about an article in Lancet today. It was very interesting. It was about ultra processed foods. They did a very detailed study of the effects of them on people’s health. She said people look at calories, carbs, sodium, sugar etc. but we should also look at what is in the product, what has been added to the base product.
She mentioned that things like Cornflakes and Weeties weren’t too bad as they had very little added. I found it very interesting and will start looking  at everything on the label. I don’t think I use much ultra processed foods but I’ll keep an eye on it.

You can get a shock to see what’s in some things. We bought bottles of water on our last cruise that came from America. Aussie bottles contain water only but theirs contain added minerals or other supplements depending on the brand. It didn’t taste nice either.
