I'd take the bag back if you can Mab. Possibly weevils.

Cookie, I bought the flour about a month ago and unfortunately I don't have the receipt any more.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Mab, not nice. The last bag of 12 1/2 k of Laucki Wallaby flour that I bought is strange I can’t say exactly how it’s different , only that it clumps together in the bag. It forms small soft balls. Strange. It seems ok to bake with.

Mab that is a nuisance. I wonder why your flour is like that?

I buy most of my flour from Risen Flour. https://www.risenflour.com.au/
I still buy my white bread flour from Coles or Woolies. Usually Laucke.

Mab, it’s likely that other bakers have had the same problem. Might be worth a ring.
Lots of apples floating around  here. Made more baked apples, lots of bottling apples in the microwave. Apple cakes.
The Annual Marmalade competition heal in England turned up some unusual winners. One was Orange and Bay leaf marmalade. I made some today and it was very nice. I added a splash of Cognac at the end.
Another was Orange and pear. Might give this combination a try a go.

Today I made a Smoked Cod and sweetcorn pasta mornay and a batch of Taco seasoning from the forum so that I could make a Taco Chicken dish in the slow cooker. Sharing the first recipe as I can eat that but the chicken one is no go, not only the texture but boy it’s hot.

I have virtually just replaced the tuna from my recipe with smoked cod Chookie, for some reason I can’t stand tuna now but pre-op I loved it. My Oncologist told me this happens and that was even before the op!

I’ve been unable to find the cod in my local Drakes for ages but they had it this week. I was asked if it was for me or my pet!! No wonder there has been a shortage as apparently cats love it.

We were totally out of bread. DH found a Hot Cross Bun he had for his toast this morning. I’ve just taken a Classic loaf out of the oven and have an Everyday Sourdough Loaf finishing rising. (Cookidoo) I have the SC going to make RTE Pastrami so the bread has been lovely and warm beside it.
