Ooh... Ooh... OOH!!! :o So excited! What a super idea. I think it adds a lot to the friendships made on this forum when we have some idea of what some of us are doing when not 'forum-ing'. In the past, when reading about members with a body care business, irrigation business, accommodation business etc, I always felt a sort of kinship with them (though separated by miles, and cultures), knowing these people too are working hard at their own passions and small businesses. I also know how small business owners have so little time to spare, and I think it says a lot about this forum, that some of us choose to spend our precious free time here when we're not busy with other important work.

I can't count myself as one of those because since starting the Kitchen Kit shop I have ZERO spare time. I miss the forum :'( I feel so out of the loop and when there is an exciting thread I feel left out cuz I just can't take the time to jump in as I once did way back when. Now I can't let myself get distracted as often ;) ... I have to keep packing orders and taking them to the post office  :) :-)) :-*, and every now and then when there is a spare moment I try to fit in a blog post.

I would LOVE to know more about other small business owners and how we can all support each other. Thanks very much to those who put forward this great idea and to MM for responding so smartly  ;) :-*  Love it!

As I seem to be the instigator of this idea, with inspiration from others, I might add, I should put a note in for our business.

As I have said earlier, my DH is a European trained Master Violin Maker, Australia's delegate to the international violin makers group (the EILA) and a founding member of the Australian Violin Maker's Association.  We have two small shops here in Melbourne and that keeps me going, much as Helene said, pretty well around the clock (except when I can find time to get on here or am asleep).  Our product base is much as you would expect of a specialist shop selling violins, violas and cellos and their accessories, cases and bows plus a few 'gift' type items.

Our web site is here and we are also on facebook - but in a very small way.

I sincerely hope our forum market place will be able to help lots of our small business owning forum friends - you are a wonderful group of people and, knowing how hard it is to be in small business these days, you deserve all the sales you can get.

I liked you on Facebook Marina :D

I have a quick question regarding this topic board. Does each member start a new thread to promote and discuss their business? Was that the idea?

Since it is a new and separate board topic that would seem appropriate Amy.

Marina I added you to my FB timeline too.

Any others.

Thanks, Amy and Gert.  Not too sure about Facebook yet, but it seems to be the way to go these days.  You shouldn't get too bored with our posts as we generally only go on there once a week.

Yes, if you have a business to promote, i would open anew thread. That way it would be easier to find one's business!

Enjoy

Marina,

You make me wish that my son was into violins and violas rather than trumpets, guitars and mandolins.  Your site looks great.
