I am happy because I get 4 hours respite today. DS20 has been taken to a Halloween Party by some carers. I love having a bit of time to myself. Happy happy happy  :) :) :)

4 hours is wonderful Moptop - how often do you get respite?

JD I get 4 hours on Tuesdays  and 4 hours on Wednesdays. Carers pick DS up at 10 and drop him back at 2.  I tend to got out with friends one day and get paperwork done the other day. Sometimes it is just lovely to have the house to myself and potter around as I please. Never enough time to do everything I would like but I'm not complaining, 8 hours is better than nothing at all.  They had a Halloween party today and they had heaps of games for them. Big tubs of jelly which they had to put their hands in and try to find the fake eyeballs! Donuts hanging from the ceiling which they had to eat with their hands behind their backs, face painting and lots of hat making. DS came home having had a great day. He can't read or write and has limited verbal skills so trying to understand what he had done was a bit difficult today, but together we worked it out! He would be great at charades :)
Amy I did have me time - I spent way too much time on here today!! LOL

I can imagine the fun DS had Moptop, bet he was on a real high when he came home.  Me time is special and hard to come by, pity you can't get a little more than 8 hours a week.  Special hugs to you and your DS.
