Discovered an issue for me with the 7. My recipes are all metric and the 7 is set at oz and pounds. It hasn’t been an issue with the 6 as the scales haven’t worked for years. I’ve used digital scales when cooking. I believe I can change the 7 but don’t know if this translates to the recipes. I will not have time to test it out until Sunday.

Chookie I can weigh in grams? Is that what you meant?
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Yes, my 7 is set on oz and pounds. This is fine for Cookidoo but not my recipes which are metric.

Maybe the country you have set it up on is England UK . It would be in your settings. Same with TM6 . You can change it each time put you would want to do that . I managed another batch of appointments! Two fasting bloods and an MIR of my elbow arm that has been giving me a lot of grief! But is so much better . Saw DD and we went out to Dinner and breakfast . Did a bit of clothes shopping.

It was my birthday yesterday and the family came to visit including one of our GD who I had not seen for a while.

Today DH decided to prune one of the hydrangeas with the hedge trimmer  :-)) :-))  I smiled and said nothing, just thankful that I don't have to do it.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Happy Birthday Mab. Great to see family.
Yesterday had dear friends for lunch. Brought a relative who is the producer for Master Chef. The ricotta cake I made was awful. We smothered it with Mandarin marmalade and cream. She bought me a SD starter which is said to be 100 years old.
Today, my DD is dropping me off in Melbourne while she goes paddling some where. We will meet for lunch.

Happy birthday Mab.  Hope your recovery is progressing well.

I'm not sure exactly where you live so not sure whether  you can answer my question.  How do your hydrangeas get on in your climate - we are in a semi desert type climate - very hot in summer and several days freezing overnight.  Is a hydrangea sturdy enough to cope with those extremes?

Your story also reminded me of something that happened to our friends when I was very young.  The dad was Irish so he, DW and  young daughter went over to visit family at one stage (this would have been in the 60s or early 70s so a visit from NZ to Ireland was a very special event).  They had a flourishing couple of hydrangeas at home and, when they got to Ireland the family they were staying with proudly showed them their very precious hydrangea - daughter quickly deflated them when she helpfully advised that they had lots of these plants and they were growing like weeds.  Very embarrassing for her mum and dad!

Yesterday was spent in Lygon St , Carlton. Went to Brunettis for a very early breakfast . I was joined by 2 woman , holidaying from Sydney. They thought I was Italian.!, They were both of Italian decent. Both good cooks. They gave me a lovely Ricotta tart recipe when I told them about my disaster. I’m sending them some dried SD to reconstitute.
I bought 2 books at Readings. ‘Buns ‘ by Louise Hurst and ‘ Some of my best friends are cookies’ by Emelia Jackson.  Cookie, I think you would like these. You could check out Emelia on line.
I’m very impressed by how the Buns recipes are set out.
Visited D. O C , an Italian food shop and Cafe and bought 24 month old Parmesan cheese and white anchovies. Also the spice shop and bought seed topping for bread, called anything bagel.
Today I’m recovering!
