My 7 arrived late this afternoon. I’ve got it set up with only time for a small play.
The new steroid cream has reduced the swelling in my face by a lot. Good stuff.

Wow Cookie, looks very dramatic.
Glad your face is improving. Great news.
I’m still waiting for my 7.

Mab, sounds like a Spring clean. Perfectly understandable.
Chookie, I'm just making sure everything it tidy before I go in for my op on Thursday as I don't know if there will be any restrictions on what I'm allowed to do after it.

Mab, thinking of you.
Wow, I love my 7. Much easier to use the electronics than on the 6. Set it up myself and I’m usually hopeless at that. I’ve made mushroom risotto from Cookidoo and lots of things manually. I’m doing the manual things for 2 reasons. Firstly, to learn how it works. And secondly to compare the results of things that I make regularly. Now that is interesting. I made the custard for the Portuguese custard tarts. In the 6 it is always runny but in the 7 it was creamy. Cooked up slightly different in the oven also.
Only negative difference so far is there is no hole to add extra ingredients through or to look .

I miss the hole in the lid too Chookie. I always watch my dough knead and add seeds etc through there.
We’ve had an eventful 24 hours. Yesterday I was bringing in the washing and our budgie flew out over my head. He is just learning that he can fly, but he had never turned all the corners to fly out of the laundry door. We door knocked and looked until dark but didn’t find him. He was just beginning to talk and was a real little devil. He was into everything. We really hope someone picked him up but I don’t know. It was cold and wet last night.
Here he is on top of some Lego and trying to eat DD’s lunch as she prepares it.

Cookie, I hope your little bird is tucked up somewhere safe.
I had my new car as a loan vehicle for 2 days. Lovely to drive. 8 year old neighbour helped me work out the radio. I don’t pay for it until July.

Just back from our European holiday. Spent 7 days in Turin as DH had an international violin maker's congress (he is Australia's delegate). His brother in law and two sisters joined us there. Went down to Cremona, Milan then across to Torino to catch the Bernina Express - the tourist train that runs through the Alps into Switzerland - it was truly awesome. Spent 4 days in a friend's holiday home alongside a lake near Bern, then on to Zurich and back home. I am just getting over jet lag and exhaustion. Wish I could share some photos, but I haven't conquered that technique yet.
Missed the forum, but as it was down for most of the time since returning home I thought I hadn't missed much, but it seems that a lot has happened. I hope you are all now recovered / recovering from your health problems and things are looking up for you all.

Has this happened to anyone else?
Yesterday I went to make some rice in my TM5 and the spatchular that came with the machine (the one for removing the internal basket) was disintegrating on the leading edge of the 'blade'. I have had to throw it out, but I was curious to see if this had happened to anyone else as I hadn't heard of it before.

Welcome home Marina. Your holiday sounds amazing.
I don’t use the thermomix spatula much. I always ruin spatulas as I’m left handed and stir the wrong way.
Margaret I hope you are recovering well and the op has helped.
Our Bluey hasn’t been seen. DD dropped leaflets everywhere, DH has walked and driven all round and my job has been to keep the community Facebook and the lost birds Facebook sites updated.
