Morning all.  CC ,  we have been seeing lots of photos of floods in the UK on the TV.  Look really bad.
Astarra,  if I had a large family I would use 2 machines.  I had a second machine but gave it away.  I find 2 bowls enough.  In fact couldn't manage without second bowl. Dd bought a cheapie,  it broke down and she threw it out.  Good luck with your decision.

Astarra,

I often have 2 on the go & use all 4 bowls I have :) its really good if your using the machine for something that takes a while or also if you want to make 2 cakes to put in the oven at the same time. I quite often have bread of some sort going in both, leave the dough to rise in the jugs and both tms are free to cook more.

Are they interest free atm :)

Hally, do you chuck your bowls into the dishwasher? I find the cleaning hard work especially after making bread. The dough gets into ALL nooks and crannies in the blade :(

BZB I find if you just cover the blades with cold water from the fridge after making bread or dough and wizz it for about 15 seconds on speed 8 the blades will be much easier to clean after bread making.
Hope this helps.

I don't have a problem with dough.  I always either soak or clean immediately, depending on what's going on here - usually the latter.  I do the opposite to Bootobethin in that I use warm water and detergent, don't use boiling water or you will end up with glue.  I must try the cold water trick.

I put a little extra flour in the bowl, give it a whizz,  empty it out and then soak in water and detergent.

I soak & rinse out straight away, I have a veggie spray so that helps, but yes i do use the dishwasher.

I put cold water in over the blades as soon as I empty the bowl. Then add detergent and wizz. I find the thermomix brush gets any dough out.
BZB do you give your bowl a wizz with turbo to make any dough scraps go onto the sides of the bowl and be scraped out?  That makes for easier cleaning.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
