We aren't going to Sydney now - too wet. The worst is suppose to hit Newcastle between 1400hrs - 1600hrs and then moving onto Sydney. It's raining quite heavily now but not windy as yet. DH has checked all the drains. We can get quite a bit of run off up the back end of our property.

Hi all
Still no power and no phones.. My uncle just bought up a generater so we can at least plug on fridge and mobile phones ..we have a pole out on our property and energy guys won't touch it as we need to get an electrician (need local license so dh can't touch it either.. Frustrating!!).. Won't have power back for min 2 to 3 days.. It's quite bad and currently hitting down gold coast way..,so many trees on power lines etc..we are all ok just frustrated not having any power but just rain now.. Storm has passed here.. Feel for bundsburg.. Ipswich etc.. Bad flooding..

No good at all for you Kim. Thank goodness for the generator. When we had the storms over here we ended up putting ours on and it kept the fridge and freezer going and also the neighbours ones.
Hang in there. How are the children enjoying it?

Yes I don't know how many times we thanked my uncle.. He also bought special lamps up for us...
The kids hate it as up until a couple of hours ago we couldn't go anywhere either.. Live wires and tree across drive.. The energy guys cleared the drive now but the kids are going a bit insane.. They don't have much stuff here but they are ok.. At least no flooding here.. There are so many poor ppl by flood waters so we should think ourselves lucky..they are talking of canceling school going back tomorrow as well..

Stay put everyone, you're safer at home. I couldn't believe footage yesterday of a woman pushing a pram in an area where people were being blown over. I feel for your DH and kids Kim, what a great welcome they have received with all your weather problems.

There are some stupid ppl.. Was a woman with a young child on waters edge in the storm.. Those kind of stupid ppl risk rescuers lives and can't get to ppl who are really in danger.. Meaning not having put themselves in danger deliberately..we only popped out to get something hot to eat.. Pie shop down the mountain was open.. Nothing open here.. No power!

They are just experiencing a small part of Aussie extreme weather jd.. Could do without all of these hassles though but not complaining.. So many have real problems have a long road of rebuilding ahead of them.. Thoughts are with anyone in bundaberg...bad flood warnings hitting them..
Wish everyone would just stay home.. Ppl are putting themselves in direct danger for no reason..
