Frozzie - have been poking around to see if I could find a platter/plate for serviing shrimp, and things needed to be kept cold etc.  Came across this . . . .  wondering how to adapt to serve your smoked salmon cones . .  (perhaps we should start a specific thread? :D )

I recommend not putting the shrimp directly on ice, but rather in a bowl surrounded by ice. Waterlogged shrimp is not good. One thing we used to do when I catered was use nesting bowls. Put the shrimp in a smaller one and ice in one two sizes bigger. For really big parties, we'd use a punch bowl for the ice and a serving bowl for the shrimp. Garnish with a big sprig of fresh herbs in the center of the shrimp. Serve the dipping sauces in a semi-circle around the big bowl. Refresh the shrimp and ice as needed.

Im going to look on some of the chef supply websites gf.. All i have found is a plastic one and i have seen those in the shops here but dont want plastic

I guess you could improvise and get a deep and shallow pyrex type dishes to look like the photo..
