Thanks Gert, how's the bread going, I started my starter at the weekend, will bring it inside today, it had small bubbles last night.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Gert mentioned that the sour dough thread was locked never heard of that before. Can anyone lock a thread? Not that I want to, just interested.

Yes it can be locked but I really don't know how people do it as it is right down the bottom of the page and not somewhere members would really need to go.  Moderators have buttons down there too.  He who locks it has to unlock it themselves unless a moderator steps in and does it for them.  I've done it several times myself but often people realise they have done it and fix it before too long.  I really don't know the purpose of locking a thread so that no-one can post  ???

I very occassionly post on a step parenting forum. The stepmums on there have locked threads as they don't like what people are posting after they start a thread.

Suzanne, I have been worried about Astarra too because I noticed she hasn't been posting much. I hope she is okay.
You're not being nosy at all, just showing concern for a forum friend :)

Thankyou Amy  :-*

I did have a bit of a wicked stepmother moment today though. My cleaner started (all went well) and she will normally be fortnightly on a Monday after my 15yr old stepdaughter has been for the weekend. That's mostly when the main bathroom is used. I thought I would get the cleaner to change La-Teesha's sheets and remake her bed. Then thought no, how is this making her responsible for anything. She normally strips and remakes the bed and wipes her shower out.
Now I feel mean and I'm paying someone to do what I don't want to do. So will cut her a break and I will do from now on.
It willl give us more time to cook together which we like to do.

I get that.  But maybe she can still strip the bed just not remake it. She how she handles it and see if she expects it.  If she ever says get the cleaner to do it all bets are off!!! You have to give sometimes  and hopefully she will appreciate being treated like an adult.

Good move Evil one. ;D

Agree with Gert's good advice - do keep in mind though - you're the one going to work and you're the one paying for the cleaner . . . .  :)

So glad you found someone you're really pleased with!!! :D

Thanks for the advice girls. I think I will keep her on the routine we have now. Teesha will do anything asked but no more (typical 15yr old). There is no structure at home and she knows what is expected of her at dad's place and does it.
She doesn't pay the bills and needs to pull her weight. I don't think wipping out the shower and stripping the bed and remakingit  is too much to ask. my kids did a lot more at that age although they wern't weekend kids.

At 15 I was doing a lot more than that including doing all my mother's ironing a well as my own.  Luckily my father had his shirts laundered. My sister used to pay me to do hers. I also baby sat for 60 cents an hour. I was rich.

Will keep her doing the agreed chores. Teesha is an every second weekend kid though. Don't want to cut into dad time.
She will do anything asked of her. Different to my kids though.
