Nope I have never borrowed a book on Kindle. I think there is a facility to do so in the States but I no nothing about local libraries.

You could always give your dad a credit on Amazon or load it up with free books. If he likes the classics then most are free anyway.

It is a great gift as the children and grandchildren can always know what to give him for birthdays and Christmas.

CC you do indeed have lots of mud. It is ghastly.

Marie and others in Tassy I hope you are not melting. I hear Hobart is having it's hottest ever day. Victorians ans South Aussies I hope you are keeping cool and drinking lots. I heard there was a fire on the Yorke Peninsula.
I know Sydney is cool as I have had the cricket on.

Have not melted yet Cookie, but boy is it hot.  Have not done much all day except read and be lazy. Finally got Evernote to work on the ipad which has been great.  Put off baking the bread though  ;D

47 now that's hot JulieO, stay cool.
Stay safe those in Hobart and surrounding areas from the fires.
Just had a phone call from MIL to say that DH brother and family, my neice and her DH have had to evacuate there homes as bush fires are very close.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

There's a nice cool breeze wafting in through the window onto me right now - yay, the cool change is certainly here.

Hope your relatives are OK Jen?

Jen I hope your relations are ok. It is frightening to have to evacuate

Jen - keeping fingers crossed and praying that everything will be ok . . . .that situation must be really terrifying!
