Good morning everyone.  Quite a bit of smoke here from all the forestry burning off.

Yay, 6 mm of rain here today with more to come.  Had to dig out some warmer clothes and a lightweight coat to wear out today - love it!

We have a sunny day here today. Walked with Todd and his owner this morning. Todd’s owner keeps bees and she was off to do some maintenance on her hives. I’ve bought her honey and it’s very special.

Good morning everyone.  It's raining here too.

I had a very interesting meeting with some boys yesterday.  I heard voices in our driveway yesterday afternoon so went out to see who was there.  I saw two boys about 15 closely inspecting one of my roses.  One boy hurried away and the other just stood there with his head down .  I asked him if he was going to pinch my roses, he said no but looked very guilty.  I told him if he wanted one perhaps it would have been more polite to come and ask first.  He looked at me and said he thought his mother might like this one, so I got the secateurs and cut off the one he was looking at and gave it to him.  I hope his mother liked it and I hope that next time he comes and asks first.

You handled that beautifully Margaret and I was surprised to read that the second lad stayed to face the music and not bolt like the other one did.

Good morning everyone, it sounds as if we have all enjoyed the recent rains.  15 mm here so far, I don’t know that there is more to come but that’s a good drop for my area.

Well done Mab.  Interesting.  Obviously thinking about their Mother which is good but not having any money is difficult. Too much advertising on tv and everywhere. We have been trying to encourage our family and friends to give by doing jobs or making something rather than buy.

Margaret that was sweet of you. He deserves it as he didn't run and I'm sure next time he will knock and ask as you were so kind this time. Our roses sort of blend in with next doors and we often have people come as ask if they can take a photo in front of them.. We usually .give some to   a man down the road who is Indian and he asks for special days in his church.

It has been freezing here today and yesterday.( for West Aussies anyway) Tomorrow is to be 28* and Sunday rain. It's certainly autumn.

The sun has just come out.  It is cool.
Have just had a phone call from a man from the swap at Creswick.  He has asked if I will do a SD demo.  I said yes.  It will be done on Market day in June as they have trouble getting people and stall holders to attend when it is cold.

How will you get the SD to rise on a cold day Chookie?  Will you have a batch you made earlier?

Judy , I will do a modified demo. I will take a baked loaf and will mix one there but will not bake anything. Each person will get instructions on how to maintain the starter , that I will supply, and another sheet  with recipe.  It will take about 1. 1/2 hours with 10 participants.  They will pay $15 which will be donated to the Creswick Community Centre.
