Gert - sorry to hear about Elvis - the loss is so sad, but I do understand what you mean about the situations not missed. Good to hear little Jaxon is a happier chappy now, though.   We have two terriers - brother and sister - of questionable mixed heritage (rescue dogs) who are 13 this month.  Susie is still full of life, wants to play, faculties intact, knows exactly what's what . . Teddy, on the other hand, seems to be able to hear only a loud handclap, very limited vision, food has to be put right under his nose,  the nighttime wanders can be a challenge. . . We've had them since their first year and it's hard to watch age creep up on them . . .  -


We've had dramas with ticks over the last couple of years with the two - northern beaches area seems rife with the little *^&%^$s - came very close to losing both dogs at different times.  We now have chooks patrolling the backyard - have no idea whether they're helpful in denting the tick population but we live in hope.

DJ - your boy sounds wonderful - pups are indeed a challenge but it will be worth all the effort you're putting in with him.

Gert, its bad for ticks here at the moment too.

eucalyptus oil, tee tree oil,  to kill ticks, and aerogard roll on or cream works too.

we are checking the kids, and the kittens daily for ticks.

Both our kids have had ticks on them, this week.

thanks for the well wishes but his surgery is tomorrow..ie thursday..MF nothing major, but any surgery on kids makes me anxious..just some dental surgery..apparently his teeth arent like his mummys ie dentists dont like me as I never need anything done..a leading paediatric specialist is doing the surgery so all should be fine.

eeek ticks ..when we were up on the sunshine coast hinterland there were kiddies there that were covered in ticks..tiny ones..creeped me out..not a fan of any creepy crawlies
