It is sad for your DS and family Margaret and I’m sure he’s been frustrated by not being able to maintain their property. I hope they’ve found a comfortable home they’re going to be happy in.

Mab your son and his family have made a difficult decision. Well done to them. Life can be mean at times. Are they moving any closer to you?
Chookie we would love to put in a battery for our solar, but we’ve had ours for so long that it isn’t battery compatible.

I made a heavy, seeded loaf today. It has rye wholemeal flour as well as wholemeal flour. It’s very tasty.

Chookie those naughty raspberries coated in chocolate are in the freezer section! Everyone has been very busy cooking. DH is hanging around in the mornings ( think he likes the porridge I make , he does his own most mornings in the microwave!) .

Mab, how are you going with the bread machine?
Yesterday I played with the Varoma on the 7. I used the steaming function. I placed some  cooked Beef in stout in a small glass dish and covered it. I surround it with carrot, Cauli, zucchini and a small potato, cut in half. Steamed for 20 minutes. A very convenient meal.

Chookie my breadmaking the the bread machine has been hit and miss.  A few days ago  I put all the ingredients in the bowl and had forgotten to put the blade in.  I had to tip it all out put the blade in then the ingredients but not in order.  It was a very nice loaf of bread.  Yesterday I remembered the blade and measured everything carefully and the bread was very heavy and didn't rise much.  DS liked it DH said he didn't want any more of it. I will not give up :)

This morning I made the fruit cake for our eldest DS's birthday tomorrow and this was successful.  This afternoon I made tuna patties for GS and then used some of the left over mixture to make samosa in a machine I had bought from KMart. I don't think the machine got hot enough so I finished cooking them in the oven.

I’ve had to get back into cooking and preparing food since being away, getting low in pre-cooked meals. Made 15 tuna mornay pies, pumpkin soup, batch of porridge to last 3 days and put together a batch of Greek yoghurt with seeds, nuts and topped with pureed pawpaw (they had little pots of this on the breakfast buffet during our recent stay in Cairns). Have just frozen Gert’s Thai Fish Cakes https://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4714.0 (uncooked, for Sat night’s dinner). Love buffet meals as I get to try all sorts of things to find out if I can eat them, gradually increasing my options this way.
