News about Thermomix / Design your TMX cooking experience
« on: March 10, 2017, 10:13:50 am »
Did you know Head Office in Australia have launched a new way to present a Thermomix at home.

Rather than a demonstration they now have a cooking experience whereby you and your guests are invited to make dishes and play with the TM. They have added other dishes to the menu from which you can choose the dishes your invited guests will make.

They also have a competition for anyone who hosts a cooking experience before the end of April. They can go to a draw to win a trip to Lake Como in Italy. See the complete details here https://www.thermomix.com.au/how-to-purchase/design-cooking-experience/

As mentioned in my previous post http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=17310.0 here is our latest giveaway from H.O.  Please read the rules carefully as they are not the same as previous competitions.

1)  As this second competition is for a lightweight chip, this part of the competition is open to all of our members who own a TM5 and who qualify, regardless of where they live.

2)  To be eligible to enter you must have a minimum of 50 posts on this forum as at 3rd March 2017

3a)  We want you to tell us which forum recipe is your favourite for entertaining, do you make it for formal or casual occasions? Please share a link to this recipe and your own photo from when you made it.  It can be sweet or savoury. This will earn you 1 entry into the competition.

3b)  If you convert or create an original new recipe you will earn 2 entries into the competition. Please post your recipe and photo in the appropriate section of the forum and provide the link only with your entry.

4)  This competition will run for 4 weeks and will close at midnight Western Australian time on the 2nd April 2017.  Master Moderator will draw the random winning entries as soon as possible thereafter.

5)  Numbering of the entries will be done by the Moderators at the bottom of this thread once the competition has been closed and before handing over to MM for the draw.  If you have earned 2 entries they will be numbered consecutively.

6)  Limit of 1 entry per person

7)  You may make a comment within your own posting but random comment postings are not permitted and any made will be removed by the Moderators as will any entry that does not comply with the rules.  MM or Moderators are the exception to this rule.

8) This part of the competition is open to owners of TM5.  If you have both a TM31 and TM5 you may enter either or both competitions.

News about Thermomix / New competition from H.O. Australia
« on: March 05, 2017, 06:57:21 am »
It's been a bit quiet with competitions of late but here we go again with Monika giving us 2 books and 2 recipe chips, Entertaining with Dani Lavent.  Thanks once again Monika and H.O. for these offerings.

As there are TM31 and TM5 owners, this time we'll be having separate competitions for these gifts.  A  chip is of no use if you have a TM31 so we will offer the book for those owners and the chip will be for the TM5 owners.

You will have to put your thinking caps on though as we are going to ask you to do something to earn your chance to win one of these items.  Details appear in the competition itself, the links are below.

If you need help posting a photo please pm one of the moderators to see if we can help you.

Any questions may be asked on this thread, not on the competition thread please.

Breakfast / Sour Cream Pancakes
« on: March 01, 2016, 12:58:20 pm »
This is a Pioneer Woman recipe which works well in the Thermomix.

2 eggs
250g sour cream
90g g plain flour
1 tbspn sugar
1 tsp baking soda (bicarbonate of soda)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
2-3 tbspns butter
Maple syrup to serve

Place eggs into TM bowl.  Whisk 5 sec/speed 5.
Add sour cream, flour, sugar, baking soda, vanilla & salt.  Turn dial to locked lid position  *: and knead  ::  for 10 seconds.  Check mixture, you want to have some texture, not a smooth batter. If there's any flour not mixed in, mix it in with a spatula.

Heat a heavy based frying pan on medium heat, add 1 tbspn butter for each batch, don't overcrowd the pan.

Pour desired amount into the pan, wait until bubbles appear, about a minute or so depending on the size of your pancake, then flip and cook the underside for 45-60 seconds.

I made half quantity of the recipe and served mine with maple syrup and cream.

See the original recipe here - http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/edna-maes-sour-cream-pancakes/
