Trudy and Judy you are correct. The containers are available at the Adelaide Central Market. The shop is in the Central Market Plaza opposite Nana's Bakery near the souvenir shop.  It has an amazing array of containers that you never knew you needed!

 Thank you Chookie!
I am guessing I could use this method for other fruits.
Your instructions are really clear and detailed. Thanks

achookwoman what is your method of bottling apples in the microwave? Any info would be helpful.
I have been pickling cucumbers with dill and peppercorns. They are delicious.

Recipe Requests / Hotel room cooking

Yes I think the varoma would be very valuable as the all in one meals would be fantastic. I cooked in the thermo when I had no kitchen for 4 months and the varoma was invaluable.
If you pack the varoma in your luggage you could just roll clothes etc and fill it with socks etc so it doesn't take up too much space.
You may have to set the thermomix up in the bathroom at the hotel for venting!

I agree with Judy. I pick my stone fruit and wash and dry it and then freeze it in 500 gram batches. I can then make jam or stew it or make crumbles as needed through the winter. I learned this through the CWA. They apparently get people to freeze their apricots at peak season and they make the jam they use at the Royal Show in July. They say the jam is fresher if done like that.
I have been freezing fresh fruit for several years and it works really well.
Good luck Cuilidh

A slow cooker and thermomix go very well together!
I often prepare curry or butter chicken in Thermomix and cook in slow cooker.

Welcome Jane
Sorry to hear about your illness.
I think after you get used to cooking with the Thermomix you will find it really useful for special diets. My suggestion is to enjoy your demo and learn the techniques for cooking then you can learn to adjust and change ingredients to suit your needs. I cook for a family member with a serious allergy and it is great as I have total control over what we eat.
There is always some one on this forum to help out with questions and many of us have great substitutes and tweaks for recipes and ingredients.
Just as a start I think you will enjoy the sorbet or fruity dream made with fruit and water ice blocks.. Delicious and very healthy.
Just ask on here there is lots of experience.

I have looked at the Louise Parker food plan. I prefer Susie Burrell and her Shapeme program as she is Australian but all  dietitions say similar things and I think if you are going to pay for an online programs it is cheaper and better to go along in person and have an eating program designed specifically for you and be supported. You can also claim the visits on health insurance if you have it.
