Yesterday I made a pot of Minestrone soup, today I will be roasting some veges and making a Spanish bean stew.

Chit Chat / Re: What book are you reading?« on: June 06, 2026, 11:32:50 pm »
I have recently been deluged on social media by people telling me their very, very favourite book/s and that I must read them.
I am getting sick of them, but there do seem to be a few books coming up again and again from several of the presenters - The Nightingale, Theo of Golden, Tangled up in you and The wedding people. I guess I will add them to my list and read these ones at some stage. Has anyone read any of these? What are your thoughts if you have? 4

Chit Chat / Re: It’s back‼️« on: June 04, 2026, 08:17:10 pm »I have to be honest. I’d contacted Mr IT about 2 weeks ago and heard nothing. Yesterday I thought I’d better try again and hey presto…..here we are.I also miss the daily catch-up - even if I don't always respond, I enjoy hearing about what everyone else is up to. Does K Atie know we are back up and running again? 7

Chit Chat / Re: Information re the forum.« on: May 17, 2026, 10:29:02 pm »Thanks cookie for trying to get to the bottom of the forum problems. I’m surprised that with the quantity of ads on there these days that it doesn’t give them enough to cover any costs. I’m not quite clear as to whether Mr IT means it costs a measly €100 a year for the server or whether he needs to raise that amount to cover all costs. It is not a lot of money in anyone’s language. Good luck with any further communication with him cookie. There’s only a handful of regular posters these days and I’m sure we could get by without the forum but our recipes are way better than any I’ve tried on Cookidoo. We were the first Thermomix forum (in Australia anyway) and we all still choose it as our go to when looking for ideas for our meals. I feel honoured to have been a part of it for so long.I totally agree with everything you have said, Judy. 9

Crumbs, that's a lot of carrots, Chookie.
This weekend it is corn chowder, sweet potato and peanut soup and a bean salad - it is obviously getting into soup season now! Made a huge pot of stew last week so we have quite a bit stocked in the freezer and DH also made some dahl and rice so we are set up for the week. 12

Hmmm, not sure what to make of that letter, Cookie. Obviously MM / IT were making a great deal of money in the earlier days, and good on them, perhaps they could have looked to the future then and arranged for contingencies, however they have (maybe inadvertently) created a community now and I wonder if they understand that development.
Admittedly there are a lot of other forums, blogs, etc. now than there were in the earlier days, but I don't think there are many with the camaraderie and support this one offers. We are mainly in the same age group and we value the forum so perhaps some sort of acceptable subscription may work. I really don't have any ideas about this at all ... and I really don't know if that last paragraph makes any sense either (it's 5.15 am here just now!) ... maybe I should have waited until I had wakened up before writing this! 13

Thanks Cookie for letting us know that the forum was up again. Although I don't post so often I have missed the chit chat.
Chookie, I've been meaning to ask how the trip you arranged went - hope everyone behaved themselves! Our Scottish cousins have been and gone - a hectic week - I ended up with 8 loads of washing, between bed linen, etc. Fortunately it was a wonderful warm weekend so everything got washed and dried. Went to an osteo last week - knee replacement coming up for me sometime - I am trying to put it off until Xmas as I can handle the pain for now - so I can recuperate when we are closed down for the holiday. I don't know if I can pull that off or not, but I'll have a chat with the surgeon soon. 14

Had a busy couple of days with my cousins from Scotland. Visited Daylesford, Vaughan Springs, Maldon and the cousins climbed Mt Tarrengower watch tower (I sat happily in the car watching them!).
They have headed up to my sister in Brisbane so I am now catching up on everything that has piled up whilst they were here (including the washing, thank goodness for a week of fine weather) Reading some of the above comments reminds me that I must get DH and myself off for our annual flu and COVID vaccinations. 15
Chit Chat / Re: It’s back‼️« on: April 15, 2026, 07:55:16 pm »I sent an email to Mr IT. MM gave us his address. I haven’t heard anything back from him.Hope you get a response soon. We have found in business these days people don't like to talk to or communicate with other people. It's very strange. We make an effort to respond to every email that needs a response and often get acknowledged or thanked for getting back in touch to their original contact. |
