Not hungry , still eating leftovers.
I though we had finished all our left overs ... but I found more lurking in the depths of our fridge - hopefully they will all be gone by tomorrow!!

I can't believe it is now 2026 ... where have the years gone.

Best wishes to everyone for the new year ahead

That sounds terrible Chookie.  I hope you have a quick recovery and that the cortisone works for you - I had a cortisone injection back in April or May and was told it would last for 6 months - so far it has been 100% effective and the problem has not returned - hopefully the injection broke the pain cycle, which is what they were hoping for, and that everything will be fine into the future.

The inevitable Xmas excess leftovers - all gone now, thank goodness.

Swabian (German) potato salad, gado gado, mushroom quesidallas, sweet potato brownies, Greek salad ... that's all I can remember, but I am sure there was more.

Good to be up and running again - I was actually not expecting to see it live this morning when I opened it.  Dare I say it, but I can't help but think that MM has lost interest in the forum??  It always seems to go down at holiday periods and it will be a great pity if "he pulls the plug completely".

Having said all that, I hope everyone had a great Xmas and are looking forward to 2026.

KAtie, I had a day like you - so many customers, suppliers, friends and other violin makers came in bearing delicious food and treats - I think I will not have to cook or bake anything sweet for days (fortunately, the rest of our staff indulged too, so we "shared the love" with them thus saving me from eating many hundreds of calories!).

Cookie, that RTE cracker recipe is one I have been meaning to make since you mentioned it a couple of weeks ago.  I will hopefully have time over the Xmas holiday to mix up a batch.  I am looking forward to trying it

Met up with some friends at the local Vietnamese for dinner last night - our third meal there in two weeks (delicious food - more than the four of us could eat for $25 per head - fantastic food and fantastic value)

Went to see the movie The Golden Spurtle.  Quite a fun movie about the annual porridge championship - who made the best porridge using a spurtle.  It is set in Carrbridge in the Scottish highlands, so we both giggled at the very familiar antics of the local villagers.

KAtie and Cookie - sounds like you are both going through challenging days just now.  Hope it all settles down very soon.

What a nightmare, Chookie.  Glad you got accommodation elsewhere.  Was your GD's graduation at the Royal Exhibition Building?

Terrible news on your SIL Cookie.  Hope she is OK and that the treatment on your brother's ear is successful.

Chookie, is that GD the bagpiper graduating?  Botany would be a great degree.

Dentist this morning - hygienist - lots of new toys in her room to play with!

Butternut, capsicum and potato in a puff pastry plait (except I didn't do the plait part - too fiddly for me) and my usual standby when the freezer is getting low - vege stew.  Also roasted up load of stray veges that were lurking around the house.

Looks lovely over there, Cookie.  I take it everything is working as it should now in your motor home
