Looks good Uni. Tonight I am using leftover Bolognaise to make lasagna. Just need to make Béchamel sauce. Quick and easy
-
Fundj - it's you again. I can't keep up with all the photo changes.
I have some left over chicken so I'm going to make chicken and corn soup for the freezer.
-
I have run out of leftovers! :o
I am going to have to make something from scratch. I have no idea what though. I'd like to make Judy's chicken and vegie soup but I have no soup vegies and no cash :'(
-
Tonight dinner is a mix of left overs
Butter chicken
JDs chicken & veggie soup (made yesterday)
Pasta dish in freezer (1 portion)
H :)
-
Pea and ham soup again for entree.
Then, I will make Baf's chicken casserole.

No Uni we don't have a thread for leftovers. There are recipes on the forum for leftover meat though, I've posted a few in mains myself.
-
Leftover macaroni cheese for 1 DD, I'm having chorizo & lentil stew from the freezer, & DD2 will have boiled eggs
-
i am having leftover tacos
-
Bafs chicken casserole, that I made again last night.
Just have to reheat it.

Leftover Creamy Chicken and Tomato Pasta. An adaption from the EDC salami one.
-
pulled pork on rolls, messy but yummy.
-
I forgot about this thread!! :-\
Last night was leftover beetroot salad and coleslaw from the night before, with lamb chops and potato and pumpkin wedges. Have used all the coleslaw now, but there is still some beetroot salad left. Not sure how long it is good for... does anyone else know?
-
Chinese cooked in the TM from leftover cooked chicken with fresh veggies and brown rice from yesterday. Yum...
-
I'm making an omelette from last nights chicken stir fry.

Are you making your omelette in the varoma Michele?
-
there is so much you can do with chicken leftovers, frank is not a fan of chicken, i hardly ever make it now that the kids have gone
-
Yes I am. For yesterdays stir fry, I marinated the chicken and put it in the bottom of the varoma, did the savoury egg to cut up in the top part of varoma while the rice was cooking in the bowl. Great one pot meal.
-
i love one pot meals :)
-
i have made a roast potato frittata with some roast pots that gave been hanging around for a few days
and the other day i made some fritters using leftover from a chopped salad
-
yum
-
Uni you are the leftovers guru ;D
We are having leftover lasagne tonight.
-
Gosh I forgot all about this thread Uni. A lot of people live on leftovers, not leftovers as such but something from yesterday's meal will be incorporated in or be the inspiration for the next day's meal. A roast chicken carcass will become chicken stock, excess vegies will be turned into a wonderful frittata (especially now that so many of us have a pizza machine). Leftovers to me means a free meal or part thereof and being just the 2 of us means we usually do have leftovers. Mostly our leftovers are whole meals but I often cook more vegies than needed so that I can do a fry up for a quick meal . Keep this thread alive, let us know what you are turning yesterday's leftovers into - Uni is a master at it and I'm sure there are others out there who are very creative as well.
Here's some sites specifically for leftovers
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/recipes/favourites/leftovers/
http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/collections/leftovers
http://busycooks.about.com/od/leftoverrecipes/tp/top10leftoverrecipes.htm
http://www.bigoven.com/recipes/leftover - just add your leftover ingredients and they will come up with a recipe apparently
http://www.mnn.com/food/recipes/blogs/10-recipes-to-use-up-leftover-steak
http://www.netmums.com/family-food/guide-to-cooking-on-a-budget/using-up-leftovers
and many more of course.

Thanks for those links Judy, they'll be very useful :D
Uni, well done on your creatove use of leftovers ;D
At the moment I am trying to make leftovers stretch as far as possible, mainly because it is such a hassel to cook! We're hoping to have the kitchen cupboards fitted by the weekend.
-
Well made mince and onion and mashed potatoes, and will be having same tomorrow in cottage pie tomorrow.
Experimental bake with custard as left over dessert.
Nothing special.
-
Our leftovers seem to get eaten the next day for someone's lunch.
-
Great thread, so inspiring...leftovers for me usually means reheating the same, Uni & Judy you are both very clever at reinventing meals, I'm looking forward to reading your ideas :)
-
Not often leftovers in this house since DS moved back, unless its salad.
-
Leftovers get taken to work for lunch. DH takes a few serves for our DD's who work with him.
Sometimes depending on what it is we will have it for dinner again the next night. Never goes to waste :)
-
DH takes leftovers for lunch. If it is pasta, DS takes it to school and we pay 50cents to have it reheated up.
-
50c to get it heated up? Does he get it refridgerated until lunch as well?
-
Yes he does Mich. drops it off to the canteen before school and picks up at lunch.
-
Well, electricity is very expensive. Better than when we were at school with warm sandwiches every day.
-
I don't mind paying the 50cents, the money goes to the P&C

I would love that :)
-
I am still tucking into the remains of the EDC sundried tomato and capsicum dip.. cant believe it made so much, was the equivalent of about 3 tubs of shop bought dip!
-
BBQ a whole snapper on Sunday night and heaps left over. Used some in a fried rice yesterday, and the rest today in a Thai style soup. Still some soup left for lunches tomorrow so about 6 meals from one fish. I love it when my DB goes fishing 😊
-
We ended up with leftovers last night
Spring rolls
Amys quiches
Samosas
Sausage rolls
Served with salad & a potato bake
Very nice it was :)
-
Yum Hally ;D

That's a great idea, I wish more schools did that :)
-
It is great Amy as DS feels like he getting a lunch order and I know there are no nasties in it. He also takes sandwiches to be toasted for 50cents.

For tea we had the leftover marinated chicken drumettes & stir fry vegies from yesterday plus I made some chips with my new chip maker - just because I wanted to try it ;).
