If a recipe asks you to gently fold ingredients into a cake batter, how would you do that in a thermomix?
-
Tasty, I use the knead function - will be interested to hear what others do too.
-
I thought folding was using speed soft - ^^.
-
I use the knead function as well JD…perfect at 12 secs…exactly! (OCD much??)
;)
-
I stand corrected... twice over!
-
lol I use ^^ ;)
guess I have something new to try now ;D

Oh I feel special ....getting a reply from Tenina herself!! Thanks Tenina :-* Will have to have a go at converting a cake recipe to use up some yoghurt I have.
And while I'm at it ....does it matter what speed you cream butter and sugar at....does it really make a difference??
And thanks to you other lovely forum members for your replies too...you're special too ;)
-
me 2 the knead function as well

not really, I cream on speed 3 as I find it keeps is all down around the blades and not splattered up the side of the bowl, I generally don't really need to stop and scrape the bowl down on speed 3 ;)
-
Yep same here, I use knead function for only a few seconds then mix it gently with a spatula if it needs it.
And I also find speed 3 better at creaming like Faffa to keep the ingredients down (saves having to keep scraping the ingredients down)
-
I cream at speed 3 and for folding I take the bowl off and use a half spatula and do it by hand.

Bumping - useful! ;D
-
Thanks GF. Very useful indeed 😃

Thanks for bumping GF. I have always done it by hand, but will now use the knead button (but only for 12 seconds ;))
