Has Anyone here eaten it before - IT IS MY FAVOURITE yoghurt and I would love to know
if it could be mimicked with the TMX - as It costs me almost $7 a 750g tub and I have more than 1 a week :o
-
Have seen this in the supermarket so will be interested to know the answer. Hopefully one of our seasoned yoghurt makers can answer how and when to incorporate vanilla bean into the milk.
-
I haven't seen this one. It is obviously nice.

If your in Australia, and have a wooworths YOU MUST try it! to die for
I really need to learn how to make yoghurt first and then maybe i can try to copy the flavours
It's an organic yoghurt too! Delish

I'll look in WW tomorrow. Sometimes we don't get the same yoghurts etc as people do in the Eastern States.

I am working on a vanilla bean scented yoghurt at the moment…so stay tuned…could be the answer to all your dreams! (but you should dream bigger if that is true!)
;D

Mmmmmmmm I love honey and cinnamon.
Was eating it at work today and my work mates ought I was eating cream!
-
I keep meaning to try this myself. I haven't decided whether to add some good quality extract, vanilla sugar, or ground vanilla beans. I thought whichever I tried I'd stir through just before I left the yogurt to set so the flavour would permeate more.
If I get time today I'm going to try a batch.

MMM, sounds nice. I imagine that you could add the vanilla bean paste when you heat the milk, like you would add sugar if you wanted your yoghurt sweeter. I don't think it should create the problems that the acidity of fruit does. Will be interested in hearing about everyone's experiments. I can barely keep up with the demand for plain yoghurt in this house, let alone getting around to other flavours!

I can't wait Tenina.

Can I ask why you have to use yoghurt to make yoghurt?

Lol Harper, it does sound silly doesn't it :)
I thought the same thing when I first made yogurt. Faffa can explain it better than me. But it the culture starter to turn the rest of the ingredients into yogurt. Bit like when yeast is added to bread dough it makes it rise but on its own it does nothing. :)

Anyone know evia yoghurt from yoghurt shop in westfields? It is AMAZING!!
If I could make a thick creamy yoghurt like that in tm, let know know as I spend $30/week on 2kgs in Perth !!!
-
Harper I tasted the Five AM yoghurt when I was in Melbourne. It is very nice.
-
Coud you not just make plain yoghurt eg Easiyo system natural yoghurt and add vanilla bean paste eg Queens or Helilala?
-
When I make yogurt and want a decadent creamy one I add cream to the finished mix along with any flavourings. I would add the seed of a vanilla bean along with the cream and voila a very creamy rich yogurt, with a lot of calories ;)

Oh i'd love a thick and creamy vanilla yoghurt recipe... would anybody be able to share? I dislike plain natural yoghurt. Kids love store bought yoghurt. I am trying to make a nice creamy vanilla yoghurt that perhaps i can set in baby food jars to send to school with them?? Anybody got any suggestions? Cheers

creedy04, if you search for yoghurt there are a number of threads which will give you ideas. I really only make a greek style yoghurt using a cheeselinks starter and once set straining for a few hours to give a very thick creamy consistency. Every morning for breakfast in the car on the way to school, DD puts a few tablespoons of the thick yoghurt, some raspberries or blueberries (frozen which have been thawed) a little honey and a few spoons of cranberry crumble muesli and she swears by it. she has only even been a bought yoghurt eater and since finding this combination she is addicted.
I'm sure if you strained the yoghurt and added some vanilla/honey it would be lovely, but I'm not sure if you would get the same consistency by just setting in small jars.

Hi knitter cook, when you say 'to the finished mix' do you mean the mx you're going to turn into yogurt, or do you mean the finished yogurt please? I'd like to give this a go.

I'm not sure if Tenina has this. You could check on her blog Tenina.com there are lots of lovely recipes on there.
It may be in her new book too, it is just being completed now I think so will be available later in the year.
