Title: judydawn's Choc Cake in a Mug - microwave
Post by: Thermomixer on May 04, 2009, 09:51:53 pm
Recipe from judydawn at this location: http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=941.msg5191#msg5191 (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=941.msg5191#msg5191)

Chocolate Cake in a mug (microwave recipe serves 2)

4 tablespoons each of S.R. flour & sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons each of milk, oil (canola) and chocolate chips - these are optional
small splash of vanilla extract (or grand marnier, tia maria, brandy etc)
l large coffee mug, greased

Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well.  Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.  Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract and mix again - make sure you have got all the flour at the bottom of the mug mixed in.
Put your mug into the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts on high, 3-1/2 minutes for 800 watts or 2-1/2 minutes for 1250 watts. It is important to check your wattage as the cake will overcook if you don't get it right.
Don't open the microwave door immediately, allow to cool a little then tip out onto a plate and cut in half to share with someone.

It would be nice served with some cream & hot chocolate custard made in the TMX - you will need to put the custard on though before starting the cake recipe.

It is called the most dangerous cake recipe in the world because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night ;D ;D ;D

OMG this is evil! I've just thought about cake, made cake, ate cake - all within 10 minutes, whilst my DH was on the phone chatting. If I threw away his half he wouldn't even know it happened.

I cooked it for 3 minutes. Of course I added chocolate chips 😀
No photo, as I don't need the evidence - it never happened!

Just felt like cake, maybe after the disappointing dinner we had (DH cooked, don't ask!), or the ridiculously busy day I had at work, or perhaps it's hormones, but I just wanted cake!!

Was it good? Did you icecream with it?
My daughter is a mug cake queen.

Yes it was quite nice, I'm had it with a little cream (no ice-cream in the house, luckily or I probably would have eaten that too!).

Don't you mean that if you'd eaten the other half, he wouldn't have noticed :o

Nah Sue, when he got off the phone he said "Why can I smell chocolate pudding?"
I think I would have been sick if I'd eating it all, it's quite big.

Thought I might make some into sachets for Christmas hampers ,include instructions for liquid requirements and cooking times. I have some single family members that love choclate but don't like to cook a whole cake.
