Ooh, another cookbook. This should be a good. Would any consultants out there be able to give us
further details?
-
I would love it if there are photos accompanying the recipes.
-
I guess we will wait and see. There is too many recipe books out now to keep up.
-
I don't think they like me anymore. I'm signed up for newsletters but don't receive them. I'm not really that worried.
-
Some months I get the newsletter and some months I don't. It seems a bit hit & miss!
It will be interesting to see if you can actually buy this cookbook when it's released. I'm guessing HO will only make it available if you buy a Thermomix, hold a demo or something similar. That seems to be what they've done in the past.
-
I never thought of that one Katie, maybe your right. Guess we will have to wait. I got my email newsletter this morning.
-
I don't get any emails from them.
Robyn
-
Like Katie, I'm a bit hit and miss and certainly didn't receive this one.
Being positive, I'm sure it will be available for general purchase and if not someone will be
able to post contents etc on the forum.
-
it will be the 4th in the series
1 = Full Steam Ahead
2 = My Way of Cooking
3 = Travelling with Thermomix
4 = The Best of our Recipe Communities
Not sure how they will promote it as the TWT still isn't available to buy (I think - I'm a little out of touch at the moment!)
I'm signed up for customer emails too but don't seem to get them of late :'( :'(

Gertbysea has a recipe in it. Remember, we discussed it here a few weeks back?

I don't really care. I am sick of their books being so restricted. I would have like a Travelling with TM, but the reviews anyway have been poor. With the release of QFITTM and FFS, and of course this precious forum which has so much in the way of contributions and better than ANY book ever published - I'm really sick to death of having to have demos -- hey HO I've had 4x and I have bought 3 TM's -- I've exhausted my supply of friends who want to attend a demo -- just sell me the godammn book or forget about it.
-
I do see your point CP. They could be a bit more generous. After all we have bought a $2000 appliance.
The Traveling with thermomix cookbook is a host present this month and then if someone purchases on the night you can buy
a Taste of Asia half price. Big deal - that should be free too.
-
I have enough TM books atm, so not interested.
The last 2 QFITT & FFS are fantastic, I dont think they an be topped :)

Well it is interesting to read the comments about the new cookbook from Vorwerk. Before it is even out there we are voicing our opinion about the restrictions. What is this telling hear office? Will they listen? In your dreams.
Also, this is a cookbook of already published recipes gathered from Thermomix communities so not a lot of hard work has into developing new or innovative recipes more like tried and true from us users who took the time to share. Translating for each country would have been the hardest part I imagine.
After I see it I may have something else to tell you which is quite funny in my opinion. Well the $60 price is funny in itself ;D

Gertie, I hope you get a free book - you do have a recipe in it afterall and isn't that the way it works?
I'm all for these new Australian authors producing books rather than these International publications with recipes from different countries so I doubt very much I will be wanting this one either. A TMX owner who writes a book usually knows what we want and what is doable without chasing far and wide for ingredients - if 90% of their recipes fit this criteria, they are on a winner. The recipes must be simple but not boring, suitable for entertaining but also suitable for the kids by cutting the amount of spices. Above all, each recipe must have a picture - afterall it is the picture that sells a recipe. The International series do have pictures but the number of recipes suitable are so few and far between, apart from MWOC which in my opinion is the best of the International series.

Aw shucks Judy, I had better be careful with what I say or you know who will get one of her worker bees to threaten me with removal forthwith and I won't get the cookbook.. LOL! Good thing I have a contract.
Couldn't agree more about the International Cookbooks but this one could be different. Let us hope so.
Seems to me that monetary incentives to consultants would be more of an incentive to sell rather than the "gift" of a cookbook. The consultants should be given the cookbooks so they can use it to sell more cookbooks. Or maybe I have no idea how to merchandise. And $60. Yikes!!!!!!
If Tenina can sell her cookbook with 100 newly developed innovative recipes doing all the work entailed and have it printed in Australia for only $49.99 and hopefully making a profit no matter how modest then Verwork must be cleaning up with their cookbooks. Let me see the consultants get a cut, the group leaders get a cut, the managers get a cut and the HO get a cut plus Verwork getting the majority of the profit, just how much is it worth? And nobody at Verwork had to stand in the kitchen to develop a single recipe. Probably outsourced it to their employees to test the recipes in their own kitchens at their own expense.
Glad I found that soapbox JD.
I am sure we will now see more of our lovely hard working consultants here on the forum promoting the book and recipes from it.
Hopefully they can make a few bob extra. With any luck it will be a USEFUL addition to our collection. At the very least it may put some of our favourites in one easy place though I don,t think my recipe is one of yours Judy!

I agree Judy, I have the MWOC book which is great. I did have the Travelling with TM book but there wasn't anything much in there that I liked so I passed it on (free with my TM purchase)
-
I wonder what people in Poland will think of the Kangaroo Meatball recipe. Too funny.

I have the travelling with thermomix cookbook, and there is not much in there I like.
The recipies are much better on here.

Same with the Full Steam Ahead Robyn. Woeful text fonts all over the place with insipid photos lacking in colour ? Lots of boxes and inserts. Not to mention the really insulting hints like " Pepper tastes best when it is freshly ground". Hello, I am a cook.
The wine recommendations are hysterical. I nearly fell over myself while rushing out to buy a bottle of Bairrada to have with my Vegetable Curry
This would have to be one of the worst, most confusing, poorly edited cookbooks ever. Oh and it is soooooo useful to have a potato peeler as told on page 148, or toothpicks or cling film.
Excuse me, got to run out and get a bottle of Ortugo dei colli Piacentini to go with my Mussels with mint flavour page 46. While there I may as well buy a bottle of Imiglykos to go with the Assorted vegetables with rice and Yoghurt sauce page 140. Is that actually a recipe?? Any of us could make that blindfolded.
Gert
-
Gretchen are you swearing at us in a foreign language?
I don't really think I'll be rushing out to buy this book. Will save my $60 for Tenina's next class.
-
Being a community recipe book - if we have the contents, we should be able to look these recipes up online.
Google is a wonderful thing.
-
Gretchen are you swearing at us in a foreign language?
I can't comment cuz I am laughing so hard I'm afraid I might choke! :o (Hope someone here knows the Heimlich maneuver... :D;D :D )

No just say what you really think Ger! hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
SO funny. Actually I worked long and hard on this book prior to my explusion from the inner circle…it should be a great book…as beautiful as MWOC, and I hope my name is in it!….let me know everyone, cos I am pretty sure they wont be sending me a free copy!
-
Well you know me Tenina. Good to know you had such an input with the cookbook at least it should be pretty, but still the recipes are not original though they may be very good.
I am sure the Thermomix enthusiasts in Poland will be clamoring for some Kangaroo which will be a great boost for those who export the critters. Anything that helps our economy grow can't be all bad.
Can you tell us one of the Polish recipes I should be looking out for or maybe a nice Portuguese bunny one? 😉😉
Now tell me, is someone working on an iPad app for FOR FOODS SAKE as my book is getting a bit sticky, floury, oniony, and garlicky? 😝😝
I hope you are getting your just reward for all your hard work. Your publisher must be thrilled with your success as we all are. Well most of us anyway!!!
Be interesting to see if your name is in the book but don't count on it. I am sure someone will send you a copy of the book.
It is now 0600 on a Sunday morning in Cairns. Anyone for a cinnamon scroll and a cup of crio bru?
Gretchen

Gert, you do pull our leg sometimes :D What you did have is more like I would expect from our Gert ;D
-
I have leftover kidneys . Shall I post them to you?

LOL!

I have the full steam ahead book too, but don't really use it.
