Hi, I just joined the forum today so not to sure how quickly I will get a response (if any)?? I am planning to make chicken and cashews from the EDC pp 107 and notice that it is only 200 gm of chicken. Is this a typo? How can that qty feed 4-6 adults. I think my husband or even myself could eat 200gm just to ourselves. How much chicken does everyone use?
Many thanks, I look forward to receiving your responses. Lisa :-\

Hi Lisa and welcome to the forum, I have never made that recipe so I don't know if the quantity is correct or not. Usually I use around 700g chicken to feed the 7 of us in a recipe (so around 100g per person).
Some recipes can be doubled depending on the total quantity of ingredients being added to the TM bowl.

Thanks for your reply Dede, nice to know some-one is out there in forum land! I used about 900gm of chicken, cooking as I type, looking good so far! May have to double or quadruple the sauce! :)

I think some times it's a bit of a trial and error process sometimes.

Hi Lisa, with these Asian type meals you will always find there is only a small amount of meat/chicken. The recipes are more about vegies than meat as they will be if you dine in an Asian restaurant. Quirky Jo has come up with a wonderful recipe based on the EDC one, she does use twice as much chicken as she has a large family. Check it out here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5335.0) for next time, there are many great reviews of her recipe.

Hi All. Well one thing I found out tonight is that rice is AWESOME in the TMX!! It was the first time I had done it and the rice was perfect. I probably won't bother with the chicken and cashew recipe again. I have a great chicken & cashew stir-fry that I do in the wok and the flavour is nicer and a lot quicker. I am pleased that I tried the varoma again though as it is only the second time I have used it. Baby steps.

Just tried the Chicken & Cashew dinner from the EDC this evening.
I followed QuirkyJo's marinade, but used the sauce from the EDC (sherry, corn flour, etc).
I found the sauce to be quite flavourless. I'll definitely give QuirkyJo's satay sauce a bash next time. Everything else about the recipe from the EDC was great though :)
400gm of chicken definitely works fine.

Quirky Jo's is defintiely much nicer. 8)
