Tenina, is this class the same as the last one you did in Perth?  Perhaps you could name the recipes you will be doing as some people may think it is all about chocolate (and therefore not be interested) but I think I know differently.

Tenina uses crio bru in most things but I'm sure she could help with a way round that if you couldn't use it.  The bread with just a touch of crio bru in was very nice.
Title: Re: Pencil the Adelaide Melb Dates
Post by: Tenina on February 24, 2012, 12:40:59 am
We are changing the name of the class to For Foods Sake as it is a bit of a book promotion thingy….
Less Crio Bru, and bigger range of recipes…so all good there

Dates are locked in

Monday March 12th 1-3pm 7-9pm
Tuesday March 13th 7-9pm
Venue is sorted we think, but not definite, so will let you know.
FRANKSTON
Wednesday March 14th 7-9pm
CHIRNSIDE PARK
Thursday March 15th 7-9pm
GISBORNE
Friday March 16th 7-9pm

Tickets will be available online soon.
Several have been reserved already through word of mouth which is great, there will only be 25 places available per class...

Not 100% until Monday, but we think our Adelaide classes will be held here…

http://www.freshkitchens.com.au (http://www.freshkitchens.com.au)

And the cost will be $66 incl GST

Tax receipts are available on request unless you are ordering online, in which case you will get one anyway.

I read on here somewhere (and now can’t find it again!!) that someone is upset that I am advertising on the forum, but the heads up, is that I have permission from the Master Moderator and owner of the forum to do so. I would never have presumed to just start advertising without his nod of approval…

I hope I am not spamming you…

Post by: dede on February 25, 2012, 07:00:46 pm
Tenina I don't think they were upset just concerned that your posts were breaking the rules of the forum and didn't want to see them removed. I'm glad to see you have MMs approval anyway.
I think I read the rules when I first joined the forum but couldn't remember the content of them. I have never been asked to remove any posts so I must be on track lol.

Post by: Wonder on February 25, 2012, 09:55:49 pm
Hi Tenina, I'm the person who asked the question about you advertising on the forum and I'm definitely not upset about you doing so, I was merely asking a question about application of the guidelines/rules as another poster who was advertsing spatulas etc a few weeks ago was asked if they had read them and then their post disappeared and I presummed it had been removed.  I think it's fantastic that genuine TMX cookbooks and accessories are able to be advertised on here as it's a fantastic way of knowing what's available out there for TMX fans. The moderators do an amazing job of keeping this forum under control and it's a fantastic place full of great informative information.  Unfortunately I'm a bit of a stickler for rules and particularly if I think they are not being applied uniformly so I'll always ask the question if I'm unsure - sorry if it came across as being upset or having a go at you. MM has also answered the question on the longer post about your book.

Post by: Tenina on February 26, 2012, 03:43:50 am
Thanks for that Wonder…did find it again later, I am clearly reading too much on here, and old timers disease kicks in and I cant remember where I saw anything…
I believe based on it being Thermomix related, the rules are going to change…but dont quote me on that. (And I had actually  never read any rules, so it was news to me as well!!)

Based on the fact that we all want as much as we can that promotes the use of Thermomix…there will be certain criteria…so I will make sure I come within the guidelines, and I totally understand what you were getting at. It needs to be a level playing ground for all.

When are tickets going on sale Tenina?
Title: Re: Pencil the Adelaide Melb Dates
Post by: Tenina on February 29, 2012, 09:38:15 am
OKEY…after much finger drumming…we are going to have tickets for Adelaide and Melb classes up mid morning tomorrow, with or without the artwork. There are several people who have prebooked, I have set aside places, but you must still book in through the systerm. I am not announcing on FB that the tickets are available until you have booked…please be timely, so that I can release the news.

Thanks so much and it is now way much more than Chic Chocolat, it has become 'For Foods Sake, the epic tale of a girl and her thermomix' class….so be prepared for more fun than you can poke a stick at!

I sent an email to clarify the ticket issue (or lack of in my case  :-))) and this is the reply I received.

Hi Judy,
Our system generates a automatic ticket once the order has been
manually processed online.

However it is not necessary to bring a ticket, your name will be down
at the door.

Looking forward to cooking with you in Adelaide.

Thanks

Chookie's, the hot cross buns were yummy. I followed your suggestion of 15mins at 200ff and then possibly 5 mins. It was still a bit burnt but I am now starting to think that it might be my oven.  In our recently bought house the Miele oven is one size smaller than than the Miele oven I had previously. This could possibly explain why the golden syrup cake also rose and had deep cracks it it (Maybe).
Title: Re: Pencil the Adelaide Melb Dates
Post by: EmeraldSue on March 08, 2012, 10:58:04 am
Courton, perhaps you should buy a cheap oven thermometer to put inside your new oven, so that you will k ow what the actual temperature is. I have lots of problems with my oven. I keep a thermometer in it all the time. Last week I was doing a lot of cooking for a party, set my oven for 160C, looked inside and discovered it was actually 210C. So frustrating!

Just letting you all know I am excited, but relaxed and really looking forward to heading over…its going to be a hoot, I think thanks to Pete from Hub and Spoke because he is paying for my flights and accomodation, which takes the pressure off with regards to ticket sales. I have not been on here much, life is frantic but fun. The book is going gang busters thanks to you all, and one book seller has told us he is selling more of FFS than Jamie Oliver cookbooks…bless his cotton socks! So that was exciting.

There are still a few seats left in all classes except Gisborne and quite a few in Frankston, so hoping if you know someone in any of the areas I am heading to, you will let them know how much fun it is going to be….

see you there!

I agree with Honey Joy.  ;D
All the food was delicious. I'm off to order some Crio Bru and test out some of the recipes in my Thermo Chef.
If there are any Thermo Chef owners who are hesitant about attending Tenia's classes because they don't have a thermomix machine, please don't be. I picked up lots of hints from Tenia that I will be able to use in my cooking.
I'm going to spend the evening drooling over my first thermomix book!

My mother in law was with me and also got a signed book but when she left couldn't find her signed copy so if anyone has taken a book by mistake please let me know, it is signed to Yvonne inside. Was worth the 3 hour trip and also got some shopping done.

Oh that's terrible Haybray, poor MIL.  I bought 2 books but no personal signature in either of mine.  I do hope someone finds the book for Yvonne.

Thats terrible.. Lets just hope someone took it by accident..did you ask tenina if she found a signed copy after the class was over?? Sounds to me though that someone took it .. I have litte faith in the good nature of others... The older i get the more bad eggs that seem to cross my path..i do hope though that in this instance that i will stand corrected and that someone finds your copy??

Jury I would have happily signed yours. Really at a loss as to what happened to Yvonne's book. We will send her another if it doesn't show up! There wasn't two Yvonne's at the class somsomeo has the wrong book!
It was a lot of fun to meet so many of you in one class and yes we have room tonight. Consultants are strictly prohibited from promoting any of my work, ( I could go off on a tangent here!!! But last time I checked we mostly live in a free country!) I had lovely helpers who have taken off their Thermomix aprons to help me...and I really appreciate it!
Stay tuned! This is all just the beginning... Thanks again to the forum for your open support.
Xx

That is bad about the book missing,  however I have found that there is often confusion and excitement at such events.
I am hoping that some one took 2 by mistake.

Hi Haybray, I hope someone has let you know that they found Yvonne's book.  If not please let Tenina know as perhaps it was moved and then left behind.  Good luck, Trudy

Have you put it on Facebook too haybray - I remember people saying they heard about the class there, not through the forum so the non-forum members at the cooking class would not know about it.

Hi All, No the book has not been found yet. Tenina knows about it as we spoke to her about it before we left. Unfortunately I do not have facebook. But hopefully it may still turn up, miracles do happen. Give it another few days and if it doesn't turn up I will let Tenina know.

My turn tomorrow, I'm getting excited I'm taking my daughter who has a TMX but doesn't use it enough so this might encourage her to try some new recipes.

Just letting everyone know that my MIL For Foods Sake book did not turn up. My MIL told me yesterday that she has received a new copy and some tea towels from Tenina in the post. Thank you so much Tenina for being so kind in sending her a new copy, she was so happy. Loving my copy of For Foods Sake. I highly recommend it. Once again thank you so much Tenina.

Nice outcome for MIL from the very generous Tenina haybray but how disappointing the book went missing in the first place.

Tenina, you are great to make good like this.  It is hard to believe that someone would pinch it.  I'll bet they aren't a Forum member. :-))

Such a lovely thing to do Tenina. What a horrid thing to do the person that took it. Hopefully it was an accident. :-[

It would be nice to think it was an accident Cookie, but I don't see how someone "accidently" takes a cookbook they didn't pay for or didn't belong to them.

Well done Tenina's for her generosity in sending a replacement book. A happy ending!

Yvonne, you are totally welcome, and I too am sorry that it went walkies…but benefit of the doubt…hoping still that someone will open up the recipe book one day and go…’who the heck is Yvonne??’ hahaha

Thanks too to Pete from Hub and Spoke who happily replaced the book for Yvonne at my request.
