Hi Everyone
After many many months of deliberation and assessing the cost/benefit of the thermomix vs thermochef, I finally succumbed and purchased the thermomix. I'm very excited and can't wait for it to arrive. However, hubby was dead against the purchase so I need to wow him with the first dish/meal I cook using the thermomix. I would like to cook a complete meal (using Varoma too) that is totally delicious. As such, any and all suggestions welcome. We like spicy foods and he actually cooks very good Indian curries. Thanks, mep

Hi mep, welcome to the forum. You will not regret buying the TMX. Have you got the Indian Cookbook, if not this recipe for Butter Chicken and the tikka paste (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5295.0) recipe has been posted on our forum so perhaps DH might like that as his first meal. It is not a varoma meal but if you check out our all-in-one meals on the Home page, you may find something you fancy there. The bangers & mash is particularly good. I hope you don't have to wait too long for your delivery demo.

Congratulations on your decision MEP. :)
Moroccan Chicken Curry (http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/recipes/moroccan-chicken-curry/16918) is a great dish which also utilises the Varoma and steaming basket for layered cooking. The spiced rice is just delish!

Not to mention this thread of course? LOL!

Hi and welcome MEP.

Welcome to the forum MEP :)

Hi MEP. Welcome to the forum. I also really like the Indian cook book. My DH wasn't keen on the idea of me purchasing the TMX but soon changed his tune! He now even agrees that if anything happened to it, we would replace it! Such a turn around.

Welcome to the forum.

My DH loved it so much he bought me a second bowl ! :D :D :D

Hi Mep & welcome!
I'm sure it won't take long for your hubby to see how wonderful your new TMX is :)
-
Thanks for all your recommendations. I'm tossing up between the Morrocan Lamb or Butter Chicken. Wish me luck! :)
-
Butter Chicken and good luck, you will not need it ;D
-
Thanks fundj.

Are you making the Butter Chicken recipe from the Indian book MEP? It is posted here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5295.0) on the forum and is the best one by far.
-
Welcome, i assume that your TMX has arrived by now. How is it going. It replaces so much in the kitchen and is such a gem to use.
hubby will soon be singing its praises to his mates as your whip up fantastic meals for him.
-
Hi Judy, yes the Butter Chicken from the Indian Cookbook.
Hi Aussie Brenda, still waiting...less patiently, as the days pass by though. I the mean time I am busying myself with all the topics on this forum. There's SO much to read and learn...I am considering taking long service leave when it arrives just to familiarise myself with my new friend. Don't expect DH would appreciate that though.

MEP should I just add the Health Hazard warning at this stage and if you choose to ignore its your own fault.
1. Food is easier, quicker and TASTIER to make from scratch
2. You tend to cook more because you enjoy it more
3. You expand too much
You have been warned, take heed or expand

Thanks CreamPuff, noted. but I love my food too much to worry about the waistline...I have a very sweet tooth and have a little (or not so little) sweet treat most days.
-
Hi mep and welcome to he forum.. Hope your thx arrives soon... At least you have time to sift through the most popular recipes on here and plan out your first week of meals..
-
Welcome MEP. I only joined the forum yesterday, so we are starting the journey together, although I have had my TMX a few months. I have just bought the Indian cook-book and hoping to try a recipe over the weekend. Good luck

Hi MEP, welcome to the forum
-
Hi Lisa70 - where did you buy the Indian Cookbook? I can't recall seeing it on the TMX website. Thanks
-
Hi Monica, my TMX rep. sold it to me. I think she had had it for ages. Ask your rep. about it. Otherwise I can see if Vicki has another one. ;)

MEP, here (http://www.thermomix.com.au/products/cookbooks.aspx?p=2) it is on their website.
