Hello -- am I the only one here who wants to see Tenina on TV??? :o
Who better than Tenina to be presenter of a new cooking show for Australian TV viewers? "Cooking with Tenina" should be a TV show and I am starting a thread here to rally support for the idea. Maybe if enough people agree, someone will do something about it. ;)
Does this idea need to be 'approved' by Thermomix HO? ??? I DON'T THINK SO!
Does Cuisinart need to approve each cooking show that features its stand mixer? Hello?! :-))
Tenina is PERFECT FOR THIS JOB! :-* I don't need to list her qualifications cuz we know all about that. Plus, she has personality, talent, flair etc. She is smart and funny for sure. Good on camera too! Oh oh oh... imagine Tenina with Georgie as "guest"? :D ;D
Where are the Australian TV producers who should be grabbing her now? Any savvy producer with a keen eye should jump on this opportunity. Not only would the 50,000+ dedicated Thermomix owners watch each episode, but so would everyone who is curious. Even the non-curious would find themselves watching "Cooking with Tenina". (Thermomix sales would double, and more demonstrators would be needed!)
We need a forward-thinking TV producer to check into this forum. In the mean time, I'd love to know if I am alone in thinking this would be a great idea.
ps - I have posted this new thread in the section for "Thermomix News" because I wasn't sure where it belonged, and because I would like to see the idea gain support and become a reality. Then it would be very good news indeed!

I totally agree however are there enough thermomix users out there at the right time (ie all home at the same time) for a network to want to air it ie get the ratings??? As much as i would love that im just not sure.. Not on a main network anyway but perhaps on pay tv.. However great idea helene..
-
You raise a good point Frozzie... I hadn't thought of that! Here in North America we have a thing called "public television" which is supposed to be (not sure how it works exactly...) not-for-profit... ? or smaller cable companies do that type of thing...
-
Havevto add it would be a great for the many thermie owners who have bad consultants too. Would definately be a great element for them as well as many others..inspire people to cook who may have lost their way..
-
There is a channel that is Ike that in oz or used to be ... However someone correct me if im wrong as its been a while since ive lived in the land of oz .. Sbs and abc???
-
Frozzie, the station you are thinking of is TVS.
-
Here in Melbourne there is a channel SBS and the ABC, of course, is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, one of the major Aust. channels. SBS and the ABC are really the only two channels we watch - not as commercial as the other channels and usually better quality programming.

Is this what Tenina would like to do Helene? Foxtel would probably be the best bet as it is international isn't it? The 4 Ingredient girls had a programme so if they can do it, Tenina certainly could. She would need to approach them I daresay as it is not very often someone knocks on your door and offers you a programme out of the blue. Is there anything similar going on in Europe where the TMX is bigger?
-
I love Tenina's recipes but I am not sure she (or more specifically a TMX cooking show) would have wide enough audience inAustralia to justify the production costs.
However I think there is a big enough audience if the show was hosted on the Internet that all international TMX customers could also watch. I would love it if Tenina added some videos of her cooking her recipes on her blog!
-
I was thinking the same thing snappy then i thought that would probablybtake away from her cooking class revenue unless she only limited i to the recipes she already posts on her blog??
-
Oh Judy -- just to be clear -- this is coming totally from me... from my observation of where things are at, and where they might go. Tenina has never mentioned anything like this to me. I haven't had this conversation with anyone, just thought it might work and wanted to see if others felt the same way. I just look back at how much Tenina has done in the few months that she has been out on her own and I'm projecting to where this momentum could go! I guess that looking at the Thermomix Aussie world from a distance, it seems everyone there has the machine. And when I see the numbers (50,000 owners) it feels like there might be enough interest to support a cooking show like what Tenina could offer. The show wouldn't necessarily have to be solely focused on TMX, but it could be a regular part of it... Just thinking out loud here :)
-
Tenina on a cooking show of her own?? I'm all for that. Can you imagine how the sales of TMX would go up? Hopefully down the track someone will see what a performer Tenina is. ;) A wizz in the kitchen with the TMX too. :D :D :D :D

I would love a cooking show guys, so ramp it up….lets see where this idea goes…I actually pitched a show a few years ago and got the go ahead, but the insurance crippled me and it never got off the ground my end…so…
Watch this space! ;D

I am in... It would be awesome. How about an online petition!!!!
Or if not TV just yet, how about an on line show, using You Tube as a broadcaster... This would get so many visualisations and would then convince TV networks that this kind of content is popular. Social Media and PR could help push this.
Of course there's the question of money for production... Product Placement, or a sponsor?
Thinking out loud also

What a hoot! How about Vorwerk Germany for a sponsor? Can but ask. Maybe we could use a new East Coast INDEPENDANT distributor for the Thermomix. Guess that won't happen though.
Doesn't have to be all about the Thermomix. Tenina could have the Hotmixpro and the Kenwood cooking chef all lined up on the shelf behind her. Maybe then they would all be falling over themselves to buy the biggest ads. Who buys the biggest ad gets to have the show about them that week. ROFLMAO!!!!!
In any case as MM said You Tube is a great way to start.

Yep can def see you tube as a good starting block for this medium...
-
I love the idea of Tenina doing a cooking show.
Maybe even guest spots on other shows like being the challenge for contestants
on Masterchef etc.
-
oooh -- these are all great ideas! Glad I'm not the only one who sees Tenina as one of the best assests for new Thermomix sales. Gertbysea, I like how you think! ;D Sadly, SuperKitchenMachine has not sold enough Super Spatulas (yet!) to pay for product placement but you never know.... new ideas are in development, coming soon to a blog near you ;)

Go for it Helene.
-
I would love to see it. The Food Channel on Foxtel would be the way to go. I certainly think YouTube would be a great start.
-
if those 4 ingredient girls, with their fake packet bought recipes and instant sauces can make it big then imagine what Tenina with all her fabulous made from scratch recipes can do!!!
-
Yes baf65 -- and also her original, unique "made from scratch" personality =)
-
Some would say, ‘watch out she does scratch’ personality!!
-
Oh yay oh yay... my wish came true! :o Well, she's on on Australian TV (yet) but as of today, she's on "global TV" ???
Whoohoooo: Tenina now does recipes on YouTube (http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/2012/17104/tenina-umami-paste-recipe.html)

I saw Tenina make a toffee type crumble using the HMP on something or other too. It sort of came up on Twitter on my ipad I think. I'll try and check.

Home and hammered…looking forward to the retreat at the end of August, so much to do before then.
