Title: Yeah!! I've nearly made it.

Well, I have to share with someone so my poor TMX friends here it is.
I will be 60 tomorrow and I'm VERY excited. I had a nasty melanoma removed a couple of years ago and occasionally wondered if I'd get to 60.............and tomorrow is the big day. Fortunately I'm in perfect health and keep having all my checkups and life is wonderful.
My DH hates eating out so tomorrow is dinner with daughter and I, and for lunch he threatens to take me to Maccas. It will more likely be a lovely sushi place we have locally. Today I'm off to the Burswood (our local casino) to have a party lunch with friends. Unfortunately one brother is in ACT and the other is away at the moment, so it will be phone calls there.
I guess I'm silly to be all excited about being 60 but to me it's an important milestone and life is exciting. I even have my Seniors card all ready to fax off!!

Just remembered (I'm getting old and forgetful  ;) ;) ;D ) that I read people are now saying that 60 is the new 40.  So time to party.

Well done Cookie1.  So glad to hear your health is A1 and yes, I was excited too when I turned 60 a few years ago as my daughters shouted me to Las Vegas.  Have a lovely birthday tomorrow, I'm sure you will cook up a storm.  Loved the message from bimby - you girls are so clever with your computers.

Funny thing Cookie1, you were on my mind as I was just waiting for your decadent cookies to cook, came in to see if any more messages had been posted and found your birthday declaration. Will let you know later how they turned out.

Must be the still young at heart thing!
 I am taking all the family away at the weekend as a surprise, nobody knows, except me!!!  So I am getting even more excited! A lovely 4* Spa Hotel on the coast in Granada, should be really nice! Can't wait ...roll on Friday! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Happy birthday Bron.  May your day be wonderful. A friend once told me that it is only the outside of us that ages, not the inside, and I think that is so true.

Thank you everyone, you've made me feel very special. I had my first taste of Dom Perignon (spelling?) yesterday-mmmm.

Thank you all. I had a lovely day. DH and I went out to sushi for lunch (big deal for him!) and daughter took me out to dinner. DH bought me a lovely ring from Linneys and daughter a new camera. Plus lots of lovely bits and pieces from friends and family. My Mum's younger sister rang me to wish me happy birthday which I found very touching as Mum died just over 4 years ago. It was an emotional call as she said she was ringing because Mum couldn't. I usually only chat to her at Christmas-and she's about 80 so it was touching that she remembered.

I might have to turn 60 again next year, it was so much fun.
