I am soo excited... this book is awesome.
These are delicious. :-))
I will explain by method:
Dough
I did everything as listed. I didn't use fresh yeast I used instant.
Filling
As listed and instructed
Frosting
DD's don't like cream cheese. I used "sourdough cinnamon scrolls with vanilla sourcream icing" from thermomix forum thanks Ceejay.
-
They look great Mrs KK, well done. I do love cinnamon scrolls.
-
Wow they look great Mrs K. I prefer white drizzle icing too. I've got as far as blitzing up the vanilla and cinnamon in readiness for making these, just have been a bit busy, can't wait to make them. :D
-
Gorgeous Mrs K :)

Love cinnamon scrolls... Cant wait to try out teninas version...
-
I finally made these this morning.
I actually found them quite dry, the scroll was more bread like than what I'm used to. In fairness I think the dryness was probably more noticeable because I didn't use the cream cheese frosting which would have made up for it.

Sensational pics Julie (http://www.directsmiley.com/cat/36/36_1_55.gif)

Julie, you are probably too polite to say, but it is hard to beat your conversion of Bill Granger's Cinnamon snail Rolls. These are the very best.
-
I thought the same thing Chookie, JulieO does have something to compare them with.
-
They still look delicious JulieO.
-
Yes, I must say that I do like Bill's recipe for these, but was willing to test Tenina's. (I love cinnamon scrolls!) :D
Thanks Johnro, I'm missing seeing your lovely pics too. :)
Thanks Cookie. ;D

I was wondering how they compared as i really loved your recipe for these...

Aha, I also found this. But I am comparing to the Pioneer Woman's - Ree Drummonds' recipe.
I would say if you haven't made one of the above before, you'll find them fine, but if you've made some awesome scrolls before, you'll be left dissapointed.
I did LOVE the frosting though, that will be going on my rolls from now on.
-
Oh leeJ please tell me you have converted the pioneer woman's scrolls???
Hers are so perfect I can't make any other!
-
It's on my to do list! I'd have to halve the recipe though, seeing as it's so massive (but, when making such a messy treat, it's best to make copious amounts IMO!)
I will post in here when I do, so you see it Snappy :)
Glad to see someone else who appreciates her work, they are just too wonderful!
-
I normally make half recipe because it makes way too much - I suspect the full recipe will be too big for the TMX to handle anyway. The half recipe normally makes about 25 scrolls for me.
-
Ijust googled the pioneer woman's scrolls. How very decadent. All that butter. I think my cholesterol went up reading the recipe.
-
Ah yes, most of te Pioneer Womans recipes are special occasion only! She is feeding hungry ranch men, she can get away with it ;D
-
Fair enough. I've signed up for her newsletter now.
-
I haven't made her scrolls but I have made a few of her savoury meals, I have a couple on this weeks list actually. Also have her book too. :)
-
The book is lovely, isn't it JulieO?
I didn't think I had a cook book fetish, but now looking at my bookshelf, I may have proved myself wrong :-))
-
thanks for this . I love the look of her food but staying away while on the diet.
-
Hi Snappy,
Can I please ask: When you half PW's recipe is everything halved?
I have been craving these scrolls for years, but wasn't possible because we were gluten free, but since finding out we tolerate spelt I am keen to try the things I've missed out on.
Thanks!
-
Yes abundanceatangas, I just halve everything and it turns out perfectly! They are so worth every calorie!
-
Thanks snappy, hopefully I'll get time to make these today - I can't wait!
-
Oh my, they are delicious!!! I got myself a bit confused with the halving and only used a quarter of the melted butter and cinnamon in the scroll and they are still yummy yum yum.
The full recipe would make enough for an army!
I only used the tmx in the heating of the milk, but it was still a blessing because I probably would've boiled the milk if I did it on the stove.
-
Glad you liked them abundance!
-
I made this yesterday. I agree, they are a bit more dense and bready than I would have liked. I added a couple of tablespoons of milk to the frosting as I thought it looked a bit thick in the picture and the milk made it more of a drizzle.
Also, I think I didn't roll it into a long enough rectangle. Some measurements would be handy - a lot of scroll recipes indicate the approximate measurements of the rectangle.
Nobody was complaining though as we ate them post-rehearsal! Delicious.
