Helene from Canada (via her wonderful website SuperKitchenMachine (http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/) ) has started selling spatulas and brushes which work well with the Thermomix. As Helene is careful to point out, she is not associated with Vorwerk and her goods are to be considered 'add ons' to what thermomix already supplies.
Interesting to have a look if you've found it hard to get the 'perfect' spatula or brush!
-
They look great don't they. I hate the one that comes with the TMX, only use it to remove the basket and have tried a few others. May have to give these a go. Nice to be able to support Helene too like Tenina with dinner spinner.
-
Yes they do look good. I have a tupperware spatula which is great, but will think about these. The brushes look good, no need to take blades out.
H :)
-
I use a rubberised half size spatula and love it. It bends and fits the TMX well. Sadly they have gone out of production so when my 4 are really mangled I will be in trouble.
Good on Helene.
-
They do look good.. I have just ordered a kit ;D
-
I ordered a set yesterday and have received confirmation that they've been posted already. :)
-
what a great idea.
Spatulas look good.

-
thanks for letting us know Bonsai. I've bought some to share with my DD's.
-

Me too JulieO and now I have to wait patiently. Not one of my strengths.
-
I am sorely tempted :-)) :-))
-
I like the look of these, will talk to DD and see if she likes them too.
-
The brushes sold me, love the look of the spatulas too, great video explaining how to used them both, I have trouble with the TM spatula being left handed. I ordered at the weekend, and received an email yesterday to say they have been shipped, so quick.
-
I tried to order today but they are out of stock. :(
-
I saw these yesterday but will be ordering later down the track as i have several tupp spatulas which work well however love the idea of the tiny brushes.. Think its a great idea and good for her that they have already sold out!!
-
I've had one of these spatulas and little brush for a week or so now and although it took me a couple of days to get used to the longer blade of the spatula, I am now finding it really easy to use. The little brush is great for getting in all the nooks and crannies and I have done what Helene showed us in the video and that is to bend it which gives you a better grip. They are both very well made items and are a great addition to the TMX - not surprising that Helene sold out so quickly. Thanks Helene.
-
I desperately need a smaller cleaning brush especially to get into that difficult part under the blades. Would be interested to see how they compare to teat brushes (not that I've used a teat brush 'cos I really don't think it's up to the job).
I had a quick look the other day but I believe you have to buy quite a few. Is that right?
-
The smallest order is 2 spatulas and 1 cleaning brush Tasty, the next kit up is 2 of each item.
-

If you can't get one of those ones, get a baby bottle cleaner from chemist or supermarket and hack the little teat brush off one end. Worked for me!
-
Is the spatula better at getting all the bits out....'cos atm I was just interested in the cleaning brushes JD
Cottchick - I already has teat brushes since I have a baby which I need them for however some of the stuff under the blades seems to be quite stubborn and I don't think it would be effective to remove it
-
If you know anyone who works in a medical centre or pathology lab, ask them if they have cytobrushes - they're just the thing for cleaning out the thermomix blade (although that wasn't their intended use ;) )
-

If you only want the brush Tasty, I wonder if you could pm Helene and ask if they could be sold separately. Probably not though I would suspect. You can buy a very skinny bottle brush which works well on the blade but this one of Helene's is great for cleaning the small gaps in the white casing where the lid clips on. I like the longer spatula but never had any trouble with the other flexible ones I have. The only spatula I don't like is the one that came with the Thermomix and, like most other people, never use it for scraping out the inside of the bowl at all.
-
I've ordered mine, too. When I first tried I was told they had sold out but to leave my email address to be notified when they restocked. Seemed no time at all when I was told they were back in. Have ordered and just waiting for them to arrive. Thanks for all the comments - and JD especially for the review -. :)
-
I received my spatulas yesterday and have been using them today. Really like them as I am not so keen on the very flexible ones. These are stiffer but work really nicely in the TMX bowl and also in a smaller bowl I was using. The brush is fantastic for cleaning under the blades as it is nice and stiff. Great products and worth the outlay in my opinion.
-
:-[ why did I not think of using cytobrushes!!?? I am a cytologist after all.......... :-[
I am on maternity leave though so might have to call into work for a random visit, though that involves dodging the "when are you coming back?" questions..........

I finally have to confess. I wasn't going to until Helene got some more in. I was very very lucky to get in quick. I ordered the Thermomix Lovers Kit for my daughter in law who lives in NSW as well as the Super Demonstrator kit to share with my daughter, who lives in Cairns, and one for a friend who wants a Thermomix. We are all absolutely in love with a SPATULA!!!!!!! I have never seen or used one so well made and efficient. As soon as I realised it, I took all ten of the crap ones including my trusty TUPPERWARE ones to the op shop. Let someone else struggle with them now.
My friend has arthritis and she is stoked with this simple tool as she does a lot of baking. She told me it is great in her kitchen aid as well as her ordinary mixing bowls. Hopefully she will have a Thermomix one day.
The brush is better than my gun brush which I swear by. It bends nicely over the tap so it is always handy. Looks like it will last a long time too.
All in all I am impressed with the super spatula . Well named for our super kitchen machine. I love too that the postage is included. It took just over a week to get from Vancouver Island to Cairns. Amazing. Well priced, useful and absolutely the best I have ever used. Well done Helene for sourcing it for us fanatics. Life just got easier.
One thing I do not like about it is that it is so efficient I have no use for my index finger for searching and licking. Especially disappointing when making butter .
If you choose to buy a kit think about sharing as I am sure you can find a friend who would love one even if they are not Thermomix lovers.
In any case Helene always has our best interest at heart and she does it all for for love of Thermomix. I hope she breaks even at least. The postage must be a killer.

. . . did I hear you say . . . gun brush . . .?? :o
Well, I guess anything's worth a shot! ;D ;D
-
Gretch needs it to protect her moonshine :D
-
That was a quick quip Goldfish. Here is the thread. http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3489.0
Beat ya Judy!!!!!!!!
And yes I am still making my "moonshine" creampuff . Where can you get a bottle of spirits for around $5?
Gert
-
Gretchen, us oldies know what you get up to in your spare time but now it's time to educate all the newbies. Actually when you were ill and not around for so long, I was beginning to think you had been carted away by the constabulary ;)
-
Too funny and yes I would have had to be carted as I could barely walk. Up here I would say that the constabulary would be the biggest patrons of the brew shop!!!
Wow Judy I have tried to forget those months. You have really got a huge memory capacity. Bless.
Gert
-
Just waiting for a email from Helene to tell me when the kits come back in stock.Last time I missed the email notification as I was shopping and in those two hours she had sold out again :o :o Be vigilant ;)
-
What a bugger cornishcream. Hopefully she will get some in soon if not it is worth the wait.. My guess is that she will do her best to fill all the orders as quickly as possible just like Tenina.
Gert
-
Gertbysea - thanks for the link . . and for the laugh!!
http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3489.0
Hmmm . . . you really sure that wasn't TMXer in that photo?? lol
KL_inTheMiX "don't use an old one." (sorry! still can't get the quote button to work :-[ ) Now that's what I would call a really economical move! One brush does all!!! cordite dust in the TMX . .. . rising dough piping out of a gun barrel :-)) :-)) :o :o
-
I came across the thread about using a gun brush to clean the blades just the other day and I couldn't stop laughing at the conversation - you guys just crack me up!
-
Wow! I have to confess I've been buried in Spatula Kit orders for the past 10 days or so (What day is it today ???) and am just now coming to the surface to visit the forum. What a surprise to see people talking about the Super Spatula! :o ;D
Thanks to all who ordered Kitchen Kits! :-* Yes, response was waaaaay more than I could have predicted, so I ran out of the first shipment within about 24 hours. Then the second shipment arrived and same thing. But the next shipment is HUGE and will more than cover everyone's needs for quite a while so I don't foresee any more "out of stock" situations. Ever.
As the response was beyond all predictions and some people were of course disappointed, I really want to say special thanks to those who haven't ordered yet. That's all of you (hundreds of you!) who are patiently waiting for "back in stock" notices to arrive by email. (Kits should be fully available in the next two weeks.) If you've signed up to that "notify me" service, a one-time email gets sent automatically as soon as the stock is re-entered to the system, so it's really instant and easy, (no obligation to buy either.)
I also want to say that I've been very impressed with the delivery time to Australia. I think someone in Oz had spatulas arrive FOUR days after ordering :o. (Yikes, that's just crazy, but in a good way!) I know the timing will vary greatly within Australia itself, but so far so good. I was expecting at least two weeks for delivery time and so far the average appears to be one week.
Also, I want to give a great big nod of thanks to Gertbysea who inspired me to look at brushes in the first place. Her long-ago comment about the gun-cleaning brush got me looking at brushes in a whole new way. Truth is, I've been researching brushes since the day her comment went up in this forum! I did buy and looked at many gun brushes and thought... "Nope, I don't want to use a gun brush in my kitchen cuz I don't like how that makes me feel inside.." (I'm just too much of a pacifist :-* So then I looked at medical brushes, lab brushes etc and they were all too expensive. Toothbrushes didn't fit under the blades as I wanted. Finally found this great little double-ended dual-purpose brush that does exactly what we need it to do. Perfect for getting sticky dough out from the blade mechanism when necessary. Not always of course, as Thermomix does clean itself quite nicely... but sometimes you just need to take it apart and get right in there under and between the stem of the blades. You know what I mean ;).
So thanks to Gertbysea for her eye-opening forum post about the brush that got it all started. If she weren't always so darned funny, and one of the most (if not the most) entertaining forum member, I would never have read or thought about exploring brushes.
I think I better submit this now, before my session times out for the second time!
Cheers,
H.

OMG just had the best laugh (I need one atm) after reading the gun brush thread.
I would go into the local shop and ask for one but they might think I am planning on killing DH. :D
The joys of living in a small town where everyone knows everyone. I will end up having a visit from our local cop :-X
Will look at getting some from Helene once things settle down here. Having to drive to Sydney for a funeral will wipe out most of my funds atm.
DG
-
Sorry for your having a sad trip to Sydney DG. Something we all must do from time to time, more lately at my age.
Glad you had a good laugh about the gun brush. Several places here to buy them but I have to say Helene's brush is far better and more useful. Put them on your wish list along with the super spatula. That thing is the best ever by far. Just when you think you do not need another kitchen thing eh? Same with cookbooks.
And to Helene...aw shucks.
Gretch
-
I forgot to tell you all that the SuperThermomix Brush that Helene has is also very good for cleaning the keyboard of the computer. Brilliant a twofer!
Gert
-
That's a "Super" idea Gertbysea, except maybe for the Super "THERMOMIX" brush. ;) I love your enthusiasm :-* but in deference to Vorwerk I am uber careful about using/overusing the "T" word. :-X (Some forum members might recall that I was made to take down my original blog because it contained the "T" word in its title, so I've become quite sensitive and cautious about such things.) That's why I started "Super Kitchen Machine" instead. Figured I needed to find another way to refer to it, and since it is after all, a super wonderful kitchen machine, that name just fit perfectly.
So to be clear again... this is not a Thermomix brush, but the Great Little Brush and Super Spatula do fit the Super Kitchen Machine quite well. Hope that's all sorted now. Oh, by the way, in case anyone is still confused... I don't work for Vorwerk, and I don't represent Vorwerk or Thermomix in any way. Nope, am not and never have been a demonstrator, but you'd be hard pressed to find a bigger Thermomix fan anywhere.
-
Ah, so that's why your blog had a name change Helene. Never knew that. Have to agree with you regarding Gertie too, she is and has always been worth a laugh or two. People appreciate efforts made by loyal TMX fans and show their appreciation by ordering products not supplied by HO so I think there is room for everyone in this big TMX world. A bit of competition hurts no-one.
-
Mine arrived yesterday and I am very happy with it. Used it this morning for hollandaise sauce and it cleaned the bowl really well.
My TM spatula is looking very sad with chewed up edges, so pleased with this one.
Great design helene.
-
Hi Elle G. -- Glad to hear you got yours already... From what I can see, it took about 11 days to reach you. Not too bad, as things can take much longer than that to get from one end of Canada to the other ;)
I just wanted to remind you that the silicone Super Spatula is not as 'tough' as the plastic of the TMX spatula. The silicone will get chewed up too, and I am cautious when digging around near the blades. (I discuss this in the FAQ section of the store.) That said, I still feel this "Super Spatula" is the best one to get the job done in Thermomix. I replace mine about every six months and I don't mind doing so at all. I keep trying other spatulas but never found anything yet that I prefer. One of the things I really like about this one (not mentioned on the video) is that the grip is so comfortable. For some reason, it just feels better in hand than any of the others tried. Works equally well for left or right hand ;)
Thanks again Elle G. :)
-
Helene, I was very surprised at how quick the parcel arrived - I can wait up to one month for Australian goods!
I only used the spatula for the sides, as I thought the blades might be a bit sharp for it. My son also has a TM, so he said he will share the set with me :) My husband also said to tell you, he used it after making bread and he was impressed. ;D
Thanks again
Elle
-
Hi ElleG, I am so glad to see that you too think the Super Spatula is great. I am most surprised that others have not posted about it on on the forum. Almost seems like a conspiracy of silence as so many have expressed their dislike of the TMX spatula and Helene is selling out as soon as she gets them in. I am going to buy some more as soon as. I never want to be without one nor do my friends I have shown. Doesn't matter to me if they own a Thermomix or not this is a great product for cooks. Helene deserves a big thank you for sourcing this. I am going to have to tell her. Oh no she may see it here anyway. Don't want to go overboard she might put the price up!. ;D ;D
Gert In pool cooling off in the heat.
-
I am waiting patiently for mine to arrive, next week I will start stalking the postman :D so cant comment about how great it is yet, I am one of those that dislikes the TMX spatula its not designed for left handed people.
Thanks Helene for making these available.
-
I'm definitely going to get some of these as soon as they are available again. Hopefully not to far away. Might order a couple of sets to keep me going for awhile. Looks like a great product.
-
A definate purchase down the track.. Just not not this month lol.. Am very interested to get one though even though i have so many others... Will surprise a girlfriend with one and a brusgph as i wont need both..
-
yah my spatula's and brushes were in the mail box when I got home from work this afternoon, 2 weeks exactly to the West.
-
That is amazing. Good one!
Gert
-
Just ordered 2 spatula's without the brush as they are sold out. But that's ok as I just use a teat brush for the same thing. So now to wait for delivery
-
Just when I was about to give up anticipating their arrival -- they arrived!
-
Do you think someone could send me a spare cleaning brush if I pay them for it and postage? (If you bought quite a few that is)
-
Tasty you can buy babys bottle brushes that come with a teat brush that do the trick if no one has a spare brush for you. That's what I use to clean around and under the blades.
-
Many thanks, Helene - my package arrived today! They'll be put straight to work tonight . . . wanting to make some muffins and cupcakes etc. tonight to take to work tomorrow for morning tea - so with all that doughy stuff both spatula and brush will be hitting the deck running . . (so to speak :) ).
Received your shipping advice on Feb 6 and parcel arrived in Sydney Feb 14 - terrific delivery time considering we're on opposite sides of the planet!
Also love the stickers you've designed - they're great.Thanks again. :) :)
-
:) Helene, what great service.
I'll have to check them out.

Sorry, I haven't been on the forum as much as I'd like because I've been busy counting spatulas! Yup, you heard me right... I'm counting because...
SUPER SPATULAS are back in stock at http://SuperSpatula.com ;)
I didn't want to broadcast this too loudly, as I'm not sure about forum rules regarding such things (but since people have been asking and waiting and emailing etc...) and also, I have to mention that there won't be any brushes for about 10 days.
However, for those who just want spatulas, they're here now, plus I have just added a new kit called "The BIG deal" for people who want to save and share with TMX friends.
People who are on the waiting list for kits containing brushes will have to wait a few more days :( Sorry :-[ -- but once those brushes arrive, there will be no more stock problems, ever... ;)
Thanks for your interest and support everyone :-*
-
I'm looking forward to receiving mine in Tassie. I'm guessing will be a couple of weeks before they arrive.
-
you're so generous goldfish, DD is wrapped with her present x
-
Helene I was at Tenina's chocolate class and she was showing everyone your 'pirate' spatula and saying how wonderful it was.
Yeah Helene. :-*
-
Thanks Cookie! -- your news really makes my day! :)
Sending a big fat :-* right back atcha! ;)
-
Hi CP . . . just couldn't have anyone scraping the bottom of the
barrel . .er . . bowl - that doesn't sound right . . . when you come to think of it, I think that's what we're meant to do . .! ;D Hope all settled in now, enjoying the "big smoke" and cooking up a storm :)
-
My spatulas arrived today. Only 8 days from when they were sent. Very happy with postage.
-
Thanks for this dede :)
That's only 8 days from my "little island" (I am on Vancouver Island off the West Coast of Canada) to your "little island" of Tasmania. I too am impressed. Very glad to hear these reports. So far the delivery times have all been good and some people have already received and reordered. Yay, happy thumbs up! ;)
-
That is unbelievable dede. Sometimes it takes 8 days for a letter to arrive in Cairns from Sydney!!!!

Yes I was surprised at the quick delivery. I was expecting around the 2 weeks. Was a lovely surprise to receive. Can't wait to use them as I didn't cook anything yesterday with the TM. Today will be the day.
-
I am anxiously awaiting my spatulas I ordered from super spatulas (helene). i ordered on the 29th of April and it was posted on the 1st May. counting down the days.
-
You are going to love the spatula. I have four. Originally bought them as gifts but love them too much to give away. Ok I did share. Couple.
The brush is also good for cleaning the keyboard..
Won't be long now. maybe on Monday.

I'm very happy with them :)

Bonsai, thank you for posting the information about the brushes and spatulas :)
-
Yes these spatulas are great. Although there were no brushes available when I orders mine. Think I might order another set (with the brush) :)

Oh, thanks for that Gretchen, now I'm singing in my head - "Dreamer, she's nothing but a dreamer..."
Oh well, at least it's got rid of the previous song that's been going 'round and 'round in my head... "Para para paradise.."
Loving my Super Spatulas! I've got the link on my blog and have had a few commissions from Helene. She's very generous.
I was also amazed at how quickly they arrived, especially since I'm in the bush.
I've ordered a heap of them to sell to my customers. Looking forward to their imminent arrival!

Thanks everyone :-*, and especially Megan ;) :-* Remember too, that there is a draw for "The Best of Our Recipe Communities" taking place on May 15th from those who have left a review in the spatula shop... And remember too, that where I live May 15th is still two days away. So that means Ozzie friends have until May 16th to enter the draw. ;)
I have to say I am having a lot of fun with the spatula shop, and NEVER expected the response these kits have received. I am so enjoying 'meeting' new TMX friends and demonstrators from around the world, but it leaves no time for blogging as in the 'good ol' days'. Sending emails to customers in Europe means I'm practicing my German and French language skills, as I learn to write Spanish too. :o What fun it is to be corresponding across the oceans with others when the only real word we have in common is "Thermomix". ;D
One of the things that I realized about Thermomix way back when I started using it, is that it leads us into places we never dreamed we'd go. For some of us, it's led us down new culinary paths as we made our own butter, flour, Hollandaise, and iced treats. For others, it's meant new dietary and lifestyle improvements such as healthy smoothies, soups, raw foods, substituting healthier ingredients etc. For me, it led to blogging and now an online shop. For many, it's led to increased confidence, becoming a consultant, and a secondary income for the family. For all of us though, it's led us into having much more fun in the kitchen -- often it means kids and partners are more engaged with planning and preparing meals. I know I have said it before (waaaay back in 2009), but I stick to my guns -- the reason most of us are here on the forum and the reason we are at home hugging our Thermomix machines is because of -> the fun factor.
All the virtual fun is what keeps me going here in a land where Thermomix is still unknown. There is no one nearby to chat with who uses Thermomix but I have so many who email daily from around the world, and that is the kind of fun that money can't buy. I only wish I could attend the retreat. :'( When I get feeling morose about it all, I have to lift my chin and remind myself that I'm not the only one who can't make it to WA. And when August rolls around, I'm sure those of us who can't be there will find a way to share a small slice of the retreat fun in some virtual way. Until then, I'm back to packing spatula orders ;)
Cheers,
H.
-
IT is so nice for you to take time out H to have a chat with us. Don't you worry a bit, we will all, be taking our iPads, iPhones and cameras to take some photos and VDO's to post for you and others. Not to make you sad about missing it but to make sure everyone gets to join in for a virtual retreat. The wineries will be lean on green, being winter but you might see some reds in glass. A great colour is red.

You might want to bring a spatula or two to the retreat . There may be someone wanting one and hasn't been able to order from .
Looking forward to meeting you there.

This looks great, will have to order a kit!

Helene’s products are fantastic.
