Hi,
I bought a Thermomix without even having been to a demo, about 2 months ago and it gets used about 4 times every day now. For breakfast smoothies/porride/puddings/eggs, not much for lunch, always for dinner recipes and every day for the myriad of snacks I make to keep the kids fed healthy homemade foods. I have pretty much attempted everything in the thermie except yoghurt. I need to mentally prepare myself for it, even though I hear it is easy!
We live in Perth. However have just recently returned after having lived in Chile for 3 years. I haven't cooked, cleaned, washed, ironed or done anything slightly domestic for 3 years, as we had a maid! So life back in the real world came as a shock, but having the thermie makes it tolerable.
I have two boys nearly 5 and 2.5 and I like to make everything homemade from mainly organic ingredients. No preservatives or artificial products are allowed anywhere near our house :P
Dealing with nut free schools though has been challenging, as nuts are so ingrained in our diet. So I have been busy over the holidays trying out nut free recipes that the kids like and meet my ideas of a healthy diet.
I am currently attempting to type out the recipe titles, page number and ingredients list for all of the Thermomix books that I have, so that they are searchable online. I have started the first one for the Vegetarian book under the Recipe Review thread. Feel free to join me, if you like to index all the other books. It is going to take a while, but I think it is a worthwhile exercise that will benefit me and others on the forums, when searching for recipes to use up ingredients.

Welcome to the forum - I too have recently returned to Perth after spending 18 months in latin America so I can definitely sympathise with adjusting back to reality! What part of Perth are you from?

There are existing contents lists for almost all of the books I think. Not sure that have page numbers and they def don't have ingredients lists. You can see them here http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?board=52.0

Welcome again Mel, I can't imagine having a maid then having to come back to reality - it would be so hard. Got any nice recipes you picked up in Chile that you have converted and can share with us?

There are a whole list of recipes in spanish on the Thermomix Chile site http://thermomix.cl/recetas/ (http://thermomix.cl/recetas/)
They have been sitting in my reading list for trying and then translating for others....but I haven't got around to it as yet. It's on the (ever growing!) list.....

@Meagan: Hey Boss, thanks for the link to the contents of the book. I will take those and extend them, to add page numbers and ingredients, so they are more search friendly. Not having to write out the recipe titles will save me about 1/3 of the work!
@shan_k, I can't believe they even sell the Thermomix in Chile. Who on earth would buy one, when you pay a maid $3 an hour to work for you and they do all the cooking and washing up!!!
@judydawn, I have only converted one recipe so far, the Pao de Quejo (actually Brazilian recipe for cheese puff balls). I will add it to the forum if it is not there already. I can't say the Chileans have any particular cuisine though that was appealing to me except the pebre. People always ask me how the food was in Chile. I reply: Have you ever seen a Chilean restaurant anywhere in the world? There is a reason for that. Pastel de Choclo, pisco sours and empanadas about the extent of the Chilean cuisine.

@nazar: Not so much anymore, but yes, I use to run a big scrapbooking and cardmaking shop online and on eBay called The Cutting eEdge many moons ago and paperfreak just has always been my username.

l dont do so much any more either
but l would like to l seem to just not get around to it
l try to make time but more pressing thinks come up
l have in years gone by brought items from ebay and other internet stores
as it was too far for me to travell to craft / scrabooking stores and there is so much to offer online
